Aight, I'ma say outright - Microtransactions in a singleplayer game = oof. Moving along since I didn't buy any of them.

I can smell the "optimization issues" for people without a killer build. I crashed twice. But besides that, it's Dragons Dogma Dark Arisen in almost every way with respect to combat, exploration, and progression. I enjoy it for what it is, but I do understand peoples' qualms with respect to excessive monetization and lack of optimization. Skip the micros and buy if you liked the first one. But wait a few months if you don't have a high end computer for them to work out the kinks

Overall Rating: 8/10

I was pleasantly surprised. Good game, fairly decent story, and an overarching campaign mechanic that I wish could've lasted longer. There's multiple locations on the map that aren't explored at all, so maybe someday we'll get more content. There were definitely some quirks, but this is something that should be further explored and fine-tuned to make a truly amazing game, perhaps in a sequel

Considering it says "4X," it's combat is actually RTS style. It struck a perfect balance for economy, empire building, combat, and time management. Great game, great setting, just great all around

Early Access Review
Imagine Banished, but Multiplayer and really good? I was skeptical about the "military" aspect, but it proved to be fairly minimalistic. And it's still ongoing in development so I'm sure that things will change. The multiple cultures with different aspects is really cool. Different designs of buildings. Different industry, luxury, and agriculture based on the faction. Lots of variety. I will say though that it gets a little boring for me in the mid-late game, but I got the same way with banished. You get to a point where you're more or less too big to fail, and I wanna start over again haha. Anyways, great game. If you liked Banished, you'll LOVE this

Hoooo man I'm pissed. I enjoyed this game quite a bit. If you want a better indication of how the game is, read a different review, I'm just here to vent and give a friendly tip to any who make it this far.

Long story short, I made it to this main hub place called The Bar where there was a whole lot of side quests and vendors and such. When you're in a safezone, you have access to your personal belongings and whatever. Put all your gotten loot away before accepting any of the side quests. There's one that teleports you out of the safe zone and when that happened to me I got shot by a hostile player on my way back to the bar. I'm gonna hop back in after a while to see if they sent me my backpack, but aside from that I've lost all willingness to play this game. I spent so much time getting all that loot, traversing dangerous territory to get to the Bar, just to get teleported back out into danger and lose everything. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. Put a disclaimer saying "This quest will make you leave the safe zone" or something like that. ♥♥♥♥ that ♥♥♥♥

Alright, I'll fess up. I didn't give this game a proper shot. Just kinda jumped in like, "New Souls-like that Asmongold wanted to play? Heck yeah lets try it." I was disappointed to not find a new Elden Ring, but I did learn a couple things that might be helpful to others.

1. You have to double-right click (default controls) to do a parry. There's a press an hold window for like 0.5 secs that the game reads to see if you do the second right-click before going into blocking mode. I assumed you had block at the perfect moment instead of having a separate parry input (like ya know, all the souls-likes). And I probably didn't read the tutorial right. Parry window is very generous imo, but that may be because I'm using the starter shield *shrug*

2. Floatiness appears to be as such for mobility reasons. There are no I-Frames so being out of the arc of attack of opponents is very important if you don't want to block or they do an unparry-able attack.

3. Still a little confused about this, but long story short the "good combo" needs you to execute an attacks in succession but NOT at the end of an attack animation like I thought the tutorial was suggesting. I'm sure all weapons have different windows, but spam clicking is currently my go-to and parrying simplifies a lot of the combat.

I sincerely apologize for my earlier retardation. Guess I'm like the other haters. I sincerely hope the devs keep doing what they're doing and improve the game to a point where everyone can be happy and proud of it. I'll even leave my initial review here so everyone can see my stupidity on dispray.

Also, I gave this a second try after seeing the review from Click4Gameplay if anyone needs a real review of this game before buying.

OG Review:
People can ♥♥♥♥ on each other for playing a bad game and everyone is entitled to their opinion. Lets leave this game in the oven for another six months to a year and it should be right as rain.

Clunky combat does not make for a fun game. Parrying has janky windows where me hitting my input doesn't immediately bring up my shield. Same with the "good combo" windows where you need to click at the end of a swing. A good concept, if my inputs didn't take an eternity to be received. I don't want to compensate for that. I'll just go back to playing Sekiro or Elden Ring for their more fun parry/attack timings.
