Don't review bomb good games, you idiots

EDIT: Now I've put in a good amount of hours post patch and I changed my opinion.... not at all.

UI is on par with very many games AND an obvious improvement. I had friends play with me, I'd have to walk them through every menu and a few completely bounced off the game because of how obtuse it was.

I also hate console UI on my PC game, but you know what? Doesn't change the game being good.

Out of ~35 hours, I think I got 2-3 crashes/stalls and that was before the hotfix.

That's pretty much all the negatives I can say about the update. The graphics are amazing, the performance is great on my setup, the audio design somehow got BETTER, the new map is SICK, the new Wild Boss is fantastic as a solo player.

Non-update related, Hunt is a 8/10 game for me.

Maybe a year ago now they did a patch to update the economy of the game and that's actually what I think sucks. There are no "stakes" in Hunt sadly, you go into the map and win lose or draw, the game doesn't change.

You used to be able to go broke and be forced into playing with crap equipment which was AWESOME because once you started making that money back, it felt incredible, felt like you were rewarded for being a good player.

Now with the free hunters being so balanced, it doesn't matter if you have 4k, 8k or 80k, you're playing the exact same game which is pretty whack.

To make Hunt a 10/10 it would be so easy.

Make a hub that you load into where you can manage your loadout, hunter traits and hunters, everything you do in the UI now, have it in a hub.

Then when you're ready to go on a hunt, you go to a carriage or boat, get in and the trip is the loading screen looking for the match.

Enter the map by leaving the same vehicle you entered (it can leave again, we can still have 3 extraction points). This ALONE would boost SO much immersion and would transform it into a 9/10 game.

Make it 10/10, you increase player count to 15-18 and you have MULTIPLE objectives on the map.

EVERYONE is there to kill the boss and extract that bounty, it's the biggest "win" you can get, pays the most, most exp etc.

But how about different Hunter Organizations that have ADDITIONAL goals every time you enter the map? Maybe there is a cellar on the map that has a Old Tome that you gotta extract with, or maybe there are Looter Rats that get big bonuses from looting corpses. Or a monster drops a key that unlocks a room that has bonus loot in it.

If you combine those last two ideas with "greater stakes," you've cooked up the most addictive, cult following game of the decade.

Right now, Hunt is basically the same commitment as a long game of Counter Strike, you're just trying to win/evade a gunfight or two and you win or lose, it just doesn't matter. Make it matter Crytek.

Hunt Showdown 1896 is an easy 8/10 FPS, a beautiful game and a good game. You should play it.

1v1 experience is solid, MUCH better than the first beta I played. I had lost faith in the game and I still think I'll spend more time in Battle Aces, but Stormgate will be a solid competitive RTS in time I have no doubt.

Me personally, I'm not offended by Frost Giant's pricing. I also haven't spent a dime yet, wasn't gonna pay $25 for early access for a F2P game, BUT I'll absolutely buy a battle chest when they come out.

Is the game rough around the edges as of F2P release? Yes, there is something wrong with audio, visuals,
unit control, balance, but a problem? Not for me. But I didn't invest! I get the frustration, but I do recommend this FREE game.

I have no idea why this is only at "Mostly Positive" when this is the only Tribes game you can play without a headache and it's $20. Buy it and go fast

I have played off and on for the past, idk, 9 months or so.

I saw the mixed reviews on Steam and I booted it up to see if the complaints were valid...

9 hours later I haaaaad to go to bed, the conquest game mode and Ezrac or whatever the new faction is called is SICK!

It seems to me people are fighting mad about what their expectations were of a "campaign" mode vs the single player mode they got.

For me, personally, I think the game launched in a fantastic 1.0 state!

I wouldn't have wanted a narrative driven campaign, I find them far less replayable instead of the Dawn of War type campaigns which is what we got. I think the meta progression in it is really cool and offers lot's of ways to play each faction.

Lot's of people were also complaining about how simple the strategies are, which I also disagree. At the higher difficulties, the game is challenging and you really do need to tie multiple systems together while keeping them in balance in order to succeed.

My first RTS was Dune 2000, Emperor Battle for Dune was INCREDIBLE, so I'm very much here for and understand the want for a more traditional RTS, but I love Dune SW for what it is. I find it to be part relaxing, part nail biting with beautiful art and style, great feeling UI and gameplay with tons of variety.

It's an easy recommend for me if you like 4X games like Stellaris or RTS' on the other side of the spectrum from Starcraft 2 (which I also love, Diamond Terran.)

This game is EASILY worth the $35 asking price, it would even be a worthwhile game at $50. The mixed is I think purely the outrage gamers looking for something to be outraged about. Screw those people, this game is GREAT.

My ONLY complaint is some HDR/color/display issues which don't really detract from the experience, they just look "off" at first

Worth every penny, very fun and addictive. One of those games you wish you could wipe your memory and re-experience for the first time again, mostly cause it's kinda short with limited replay value.

Works great for me out the box and love all the changes, including sieges.

EDIT: Was what I said at launch.

I want to boot this game up, I have all the DLC I care about but it's got too much frustration to make the insane fun potential not worth it.

It's settlement battles for me. Almost every other game CA has made has had better/more tolerable sieges/settlement battles. Walls are meaningless, really tactics are meaningless. There is one way to do it, and it's not fun.

I came to try Eve the third time after Elite Dangerous Odyssey being the worst thing ever.

Eve is a unique and great game that rewards curiosity, patience and dedication.

It's not a P2W game, but it's also not a fair game to begin with, people who know more about it than you will always beat you.

You can have a TON of fun with the free to play mode, you can make a character that while not being maxed out, is still very playable from small to large PVP. Progression is slower for sure, but it's not really a day to day sorta game, it's a game where you plan your next month out.

Not for everyone, it took me many tries to get into it, but once you understand the point of the game (or lack thereof) you can start having some heart pounding, completely unique to Eve sort of gameplay, today.
