Initially I had a LOT of trouble with the game due to numerous bugs and balance issues that were present in the game, I did manage to finish my first play through with all the problems but there were some extremely frustrating moments.

Coming back to the game after 2 DLC's and a massive amount of patching, I have enjoyed my second play through at all points. Kingdom Management has been evened out and it is much easier to manage, some of the poorly balanced encounters are now easier or work correctly, and I have yet to run into a broken quest.

I am already thinking of what I want do for my third play through as well with how much I have enjoyed my second. The last dungeon is rather difficult so I can see why it turns off a good portion of players, but I like it due to its complexity and the amount of thought that has to go into solving it. Certain mobs are a pain if you don't use the proper prep or spells to make the encounters manageable so there is a bit of a difficulty spike.

Overall I think the game is fantastic and I am happy the devs kept at finishing the game and expanding its content.

I am an avid M&M player and have enjoyed almost all of the games in the series up to this point. I feel like with this game I was the vitctim of a bait and switch. The game is functional as a M&M game, but the production value is highly lacking for the price tag.

The "cinematics" are just still 3D shots with the characters talking over them, which is extremely clunky to look at and is awkward to watch. The ingame graphics are stiff are frankly they are worse than M&M 6, which is odd to take a step backwards. Lastly the combat is lacking in that the units hit animations and sounds lack any punch, I dont get any sense of impact with the attacks or the sound effects. It seems like a small gripe but when the thing you enjoy most about the game is underwhelming it is disappointing.

On the whole the game doesn't appear bad, I just feel that the price tag for what is delivered is miss matched. If you can get past issues like these then you are golden.
