Not the only factory game out there, but definitely the most well executed and the developers and playing community are great.

Shut up and play this game

Checked out my discovery queue last weekend and found Blackwake. Probably my quickest Steam purchase ever.

I've played 4 sessions over the last week and had a blast. First few sessions, everybody on the server seemed to be getting their sea-legs and action was frantically chaotic and hilariously fun.

On my most recent session, I served on a galleon with an able captain who communicated clearly with the crew and kept everybody in line*. We ran like a well oiled death-machine and I would have eagerly sailed with him through the fiery mouth of Hell.

* In the beginning, I was trying to help by repairing the sails but kept falling overboard trying to climb the riggings. After the 3rd time, the captain kindly suggested I take over one of the cannons below deck and be first on the pumps when we take on water.
