A solid fun JRPG to play with some issues around the story and flow. The plots have good moments per character, but the attempt to wrap it all together misses the mark. Some game play details are also less than ideal, like not showing you where to find some information when completing side-quests and other quality of life things.

The game shines in battles, a nice turn based, job class system with an extra bonus of boosting abilities for added effect. Even on the world map, each character has unique interactions with the world. There's overlap but it really wants each character to feel special, and that goes really well, even if some characters are better executed than others.

If you like JRPGs this is a good one that hits all the basics very well.

Not Unplayable but damn near close. You'll spend 2 minutes waiting for it to load, followed by several more minutes of unfun driving only to have it crash at a cut-scene and repeat the process. Without modding it you risk crashing and lengthy load times. Without a controller configuration you won't be able to aim.

The only positive things I can say are there are quirky moments between characters making you think there will be some fun along the way. That gets snuffed out during lengthy do-nothing segments padded with running for the sake of running. So much time gets wasted to justify this being a game and not just a visual novel/movie.

Play a port on a console if you really want to play this, but you'll waste more time than you will doing anything fun or interesting.

Not a perfect game but an interesting experience. There will be gripes from some of the more repetitive parts, and much of the actual success is up to trial and error if you don't look up a guide. Once you learn how the game wants to be played, its over too quickly even though there is post-game content; I didn't feel the urge to play after the credits which is a shame, but all in all a worthwhile experience.

Tl;Dr All the elements of a Rogue Like with the small touches taken care of. Deaths suck, but seeing how you've changed the world around you just a little bit always encourages you to keep playing. Variety and detail prevents you from hearing the same lines from characters even after hours of gameplay.

A standard double fine/Lucasarts point and click but the story is actually pretty sweet and the characters grow on you.

TL;DR its a No only as a counter to all the positive weight this has. There are good things about this game but the bloat is so bad it dilutes a lot of the enjoyable qualities.

Pros:
- Beautiful
- Greece feels well represented
- Small touches from previous games are present like Sea Shantys
- Voice acting in some places
- Some quests are really enjoyable to complete particularly the bonus creatures

Cons:
- Too much space, even using fast travel you'll spend solid minutes going some places
- Numerous pointless quests, landmarks, and other things just to fill time/space. Particularly avoid the timed and "blue dot" quests as I lost time before realizing they were all: Go there, and come back levels of depth. Just stick with gold ones and you'll be fine and bored in no time.
- Plot is meh at best, boring at worst. Like most AC games, present day is there just to take you out of the action but all the "Greek Figures" feel like name drops. There are small moments of actual connection with characters, but they are gone quickly so enjoy them when they happen.
- No "romance" scenes, maybe a pleasure groan but don't get excited when you see your first Heart next to a dialogue choice.

Nit Picky:
- Why do people pronounce the same words differently? Is it supposed to be a hint that they are from different regions? Did Sparta and Athens pronounce a lot of these words/gods differently? Honestly just came off as annoying.

Stream of thought (read in no particular order)
- Why am I doing this? Why do I care who wins the war? So many individual pieces that, had they been explored, could've been enjoyed, but get lost in the salad of this game. At the very beginning of getting into the whole Athens/Sparta conflict, I had no idea where my character would stand. As the game goes on, it ends up feeling like there was no point in caring.

- Why is there no nuance in any of these decisions? Should I let these people go or brutally murder them or, surprise third option, let someone else brutally murder them?

- Be careful, don't get caught stealing from this chest so you can check mark this random port town or you'll be hounded by another nameless pointless mercenary.

- By the end of this, I didn't care about any new abilities, what I had worked. I didn't need more sets of gear, what I had worked. But why the hell was my entire ship Epic level except my flag? Cmon, give me an epic flag for this ship i don't use anymore because I fast travel.

Look, if you love AC games, you'll probably like this. If you don't really finish games and just enjoy an occasional romp, I guess this is ok? If you want a first AC game, maybe get Black Flag instead. If you've already played a bunch of AC games, save your money and get something else.

If its cheap the combat system is nice as is some of the platform. Its not worth a lot but I think theres a lot of effort here put in worth exploring.

Final Fantasy X is a classic so this is worth purchasing just for that. X-2 is much harder to sell because of the general grind it can feel like and the little pay off. Last mission is a pretty enjoyable rogue-like but given the amount of time you will spend with the other 2 games, you will probably be tired of the universe at that point and want to move on. All in all, the package is pretty good just for the HD remaster and full content of X and if you fall in love with it, you can see if you enjoy the other content with it.

Its a shame that there are game breaking glitches like being unable to interact with things at certain points in the game because its otherwise a solid experience when on sale. The music is pretty addictive at points and they do a good job to very how the level's current tune sounds depending on the chapter you're at. If you can deal with a glitch or two, not a bad game at all.

TLDR: Game is worth playing but it has a propensity to crash which can ruin the experience (SAVE OFTEN).

Originally I had claimed this game wasn't worth playing because of a save issue. It turns out the issue was with windows defender problem and not with the game. The two bugs above still exist but I think this game is otherwise worth the price of admission. Other reviews can be trusted for Gameplay, atmosphere, and story but I had fun with this and there's a lot of content for the money.

Since I can't give a middle ground score I lean on a yes recommendation on the hope that a lot of the crashing was because of my local setup or something more limited in scope. But be warned, this game crashed for me VERY FREQUENTLY. Make sure you Save often and even only after doing small things. The game itself is good as is the dlc and I had a good time with it both times I've played it, but the crashing really killed any desire to go in depth with a lot of characters I didn't frequently use or try to be more completionist.
