This game is a bit rough around the edges, but this doesn't feel "rushed to publish" rough. The gameplay overall feels a lot like Battle Brothers or whatever that mercenary group game was - you travel a hex map between cities running errands and into the wilderness to find things to kill. The speech system is pretty straight-forward, but gets repetitive over time if you want to make everyone in every town like you. The dungeon exploring is standard blocky rooms with levers and keys and monsters and hidden treasures, randomly generated it seems.

EDIT / UPDATE: This latest update made many changes to characters and combat. It feels like the game is getting even more polished, but new problems have appeared. The combat was too easy in mid- to late- game, but now the very first combat I faced was two big wolves and four goblins. The wolves each summoned two more wolves. My first combat is 6 wolves and 4 goblins? This has tipped the scales too much. And this isn't even a good approach to fixing the leveling imbalance. Making enemy levels, and more specifically numbers, more tied to character level / skill total would be a better approach than whatever system now has early battles weighed so heavily against the player. Between losing the character I'd sunk so much previous time into, and this new system meaning new characters almost have to start with a limited range of starting abilities, all focused on combat, I'm going to uninstall this game now, and probably never come back to it.

I have played this game a lot. I enjoy being able to play any nation from history, and pursuing the different achievements the developers came up with.
There is a steep learning curve, but once you've pushed through it, you'll find a world of hidden surprises, many of which are historically based but not common knowledge. Get ready to have fun learning and managing numbers as you attempt to paint the planet in the color of your nation (or not, depending on the achievement you're pursuing).

Though I spend not money on this game, I find it fairly easy to be competitive with players who had obviously spent money on the game. Focusing on a specific type of deck, thinking out the order of events on the board, and capitalizing on the randomness introduced by the different areas on the boards means each game is different from the last and you often have the chance to outplay your opponent.

This is an enjoyable open-world game in a unique silk-punk post-apocalyptic world, with a few different types of races you can play / interact with. It has a view and movement system similar to the overlap map view in Mount & Blade, and it allows you to level up and build settlements. What you choose to do in the game / how you choose to play are entirely up to you. No real end game goal, here, but you can't take over other factions' settlements, so the most powerful you can become is strong enough to murderhobo everything and clean up the pieces of destroyed factions or bandits that spawn from time to time.

The more time passes, the more I appreciate this game. There is a problem somewhere in the process of choosing which kind of path you'd like to pursue - that shouldn't be something you need to google - but that's only if you don't like the default paths presented by the game. The puzzles are pretty well done, given the limitations of the game's mechanics. I didn't get the full character development for all possible characters, and I want to replay to get that, which is my mark of a good game.

Need to switch the buttons so space is jump and left shift/control is something else.
Recommend you have the tutorial messages not appear over the top of the inventory screen, so somewhere off to the side or something.
I reduced the graphics to try and ensure smooth movement / interaction, but still experienced jitter. I'm not a good enough programmer to know how to address. I think as a player, the problem is I didn't know when I was engaged by an enemy, and then when I got close and started clicking, I wasn't hitting. I needed to step back a bit.

I'm pretty sure this experience will turn me off of crowd-sourcing anything else in the future. I have learned a lot about the game development process from watching this game SLOWLY get more interesting, but still not be much fun to play because of the glitches and limited ways in which magic and cyber abilities can be applied. I am still going to recommend it, though, because I want more people to suffer with me.
