If you've always wanted to play Dungeons and Dragons, this is a great introduction. As a seasoned "forever dungeon master" for D&D, this game nails the experience of playing a campaign at a table. While using the current 5th edition rulesets, Larian took plenty of liberties to make it translate better as a digital experience while also pairing down how much can be in a game of Dungeons and Dragons without making it feel watered down, which is a triumph in itself.

Now that is not to say the game doesn't have issues, as there are quite a few bugs in the game especially in multiplayer. However the game is so good that its easy to overlook some issues that I hope will be addressed in future hotfixes/patches. So when buying this game understand you'll run into a bug or two every once in a while, but honestly with how much freedom and agency you have as a player, I consider it part of the price for admission.

A lot of fundamental features are broken. The ability to reset the game or get unstuck is incredibly inconsistent and theres even a level that just deletes all the player characters. Honestly its a fun game when it works but theres just so many bugs in it that take away from the positive experience. Had it refunded after playing for a bit over an hour with friends. Might be worth picking up once some more work is done on this one.

Absolutely blast of a game. Community is by far the best part of the game, much of it is a result of the fun systems in place that allow you to express yourself and enjoy the game outside of the primary gameplay loop of combat.
