Do I get Street Cred for admitting I played the LFD1 demo incessantly before release and was instantly hooked?

I played the crap out of Left For Dead 1 and a little of 2. Simpler is always better so LFD1 was, well, my #1. I think B4B does a good job of mixing the simplicity of the original with the added options/ complexities of the 2nd. The graphics are awesome and having a PC/ console cross-play option is something that should become standard on co-op games. Kudos!

The reason I'm giving this a thumbs down is because it crashes A LOT, which is imperative to the game-play. I was skeptical of the card system, initially, but it is actually akin to leveling up in most games. Cards you select remain active as you progress. Pretty cool feature! They start to seriously pile on - making you feel even more bad-ass! And then, you lose everything because it crashed...

Either play the old Mega Man games or this one. Pretty much the same as the classics, but this is more polished. Also easier, IF you want it to be.

How much more could you ask for? In a world of sequels and prequels this version of Doom goes beyond "Just another Game in the Franchise" to something that is actually a stand alone game. If you were a fan of Doom I & II you'll you'll dig this. It's basically Doom III, 20+ years later. The graphics are very arcade-like, but that actually works in its favor. Sound-wise... ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ this game's audio is amazing. I wish they had a Dolby Atmos setting, however 5.1(?)surround is great. Oh yeah, forgot to mention it ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ brutal. You will die sooooo many times. Only negative is if you're doing HDR the auto-map, as of right now, is super dark and basically useless.

If you like turn based games this is pretty cool. Kinda feels like The Last Remnant in that it's a heavily story oriented JRGP where every soldier has quirks that you need to consider. TBH I thought I accidentally bought the original Valkyria Chronicles again by mistake, both games seem very similar. Super addictive once you get the mechanics down. Scouts are still pretty OP, but the the new grenadier class adds some spice.

Never really got into the 1st one and this had been sitting in my library for many years. Finally played over the last few weeks and it holds up extremely well. Graphics look good and sound is 5.1 surround stereo which adds so much to the the horror/ thrill (why don't other games focus on this?)! I don't write many reviews, but felt compelled to do so after dieing so many excruciating deaths. There are SO MANY DIFFERENT gory death animations in this game!
