Really underrated game. Mainly because people complain about the prices of car pack (more on that at the end).

The feeling is really good even with an old Logitech G25 FFB Wheel.
You can really feel the difference between AWD/RWS/FWD cars, and you have to drive them differently as IRL.
Each cars have they own unique behaviours, advantages and drawbacks. The old Group 5 are really fun.
The sound is really amazing, and quite 'organic', compared to other sims.
Overall this is really the best sim racing available is terms of feeling the car from the wheel.
Some may complain that some of the setup options are simplified, but these are useless purist comments, the essentials are there, and also it makes for close racing online.

Note that on the topic of online, the public lobbies are to be avoided as expected, and you might want to find yourself an organised league with serious folks to play with or if you'd like something similar to iRacing's system with 24/7 races, try Sim Racing System (SRS).

Now on the pricing, given the cost of licenses, I think it's fair. Also you can get a good discount if you get the vRPs on the raceroom store and buy the packs ingame using these vRPs during EOY sales discounts

R3E has a superior feeling to ACC, iR, PCars, Automobilista and rF2 and is a true successor of GTR².
