Simple concept, done outstanding well.

Game deals out cards, you try to make the best poker hand out of the cards dealt as possible.

As you progress you try to stack the odds in your favour until you come up with combination that utterly breaks the game. You keep going until the amount of points you get in a round is outstripped by the exponential increase in your target points.

Every 3 rounds you have a boss round which has restrictions on how you can win to throw a spanner into your winning plan of a deck build.

It ends up feeling like a game where you are making the rules up as you along and is utterly compelling to play.

Well worth getting.

It is one of the best games of all time remade into something even better than the original.

This is utterly brilliant and this is by far the best version to play, your life is poorer for not playing it.

Some rough edges but this game does nail the feeling of being Robocop as well as the world of Robocop.

Some nice references to the films as well to find if you do a bit of exploring.

Even a few narrative choices in the game which have an impact on the ending like you get in fallout.

Took me around 12-13 hours to finish and I enjoyed every moment of it.

The main story is too short, the side quests are too short, the story isn't that interesting, the ending is anticlimactic, the characters you meet aren't that interesting, the towns aren't that interesting, the minimap is terrible, the combat isn't anything of note, space combat is dull, the guns are boring, the menus are terrible, the load screens are a constant nuisance, exploring planets is dull, points of interest are so far apart you will lose interest in going to them quickly as there is nothing of value in them.

To sum it up imagine fallout 4 with only the pipe weapons and the basic laser weapons, where every point of interest is at least 300-700m away which you will have to walk too and when you get there you will never find anything that made the trip worthwhile and you went through at least 3 load screen to get there in the first place.

There are far better ways of spending your free time than this game and I can't see any amount of patches making this game into something worth playing.

Early Access Review
It may still be in early access but this is far more playable then anything DICE has released since Bad Company 2. At a basic level this game launches in a state that actually runs and is not a bug riddled, unplayable, unbalanced mess at launch like almost every Battlefield game ever released.

You have a game that even at this point is very playable, extremely fun and almost does everything you would want in a battlefield game.

It's not perfect, the audio is terrible, the graphics are laughable and the shadows make Battlefield 2 look advanced.

However, when your in a firefight you don't notice the graphics.

You will notice the audio though, if they fix that they will have an absolute classic of a game here.

If you're are still reading at this point and still haven't got this game, I'll put it this way.

This game does 127 v 127 games before Battlefield did and still makes them feel less chaotic then Metro ever was.

If you have even a passing interest in Battlefield games buy this one right now because this is far more fun then you will be getting from DICE for at least the next 5 years.

It's not perfect, it can cripple even the most powerful machines in the late game with enough network complexity and town size also you could argue that openttd is still a better tycoon game.

With that out of the way though I find it compelling to keep playing. Optimising my network, adding a bit more capacity here, adding another line there, building a better, faster route along this route, etc and before you know it another 4 hours has gone by.

Add into that the fantastic people who make free workshop content for the game that make up for the rather anemic vehicle selection in the base game and you basically end up with a game that you can play as a far cheaper way of getting a trainset or one where you can create yourself a transport network that even the 1800's railroad barons would be proud of.

To sum the game up:

The graphics are great, the plot is interesting, the characters are interesting to listen to, the voice acting is great, the combat is fun and varied and even when you do get past the last boss you still haven't even scratched the surface of what there is to do in the game.

The only real negatives with the game are some of the particle effects make it very difficult to see when you are being attacked, a few of the later enemies aren't fun to fight and....well that is about it.

Even with all the updates to the game what you get right now is a worse version of Fallout 4 with the same bugs you could get all the way back in Oblivion.

If you go in expecting a worse version of fallout 4 you'll probably be okay with this but I still think your time would be better spent in fallout 4 and its DLC.

If you can get the game for less then £15 or your local equivalent then it is probably worth it but with that said there are far more games deserving of your money then this one.

You pick a class, you pick a mission, you mine, you shoot, you cheer, you go home and drink some beer and dance to some music.

You can play solo and still enjoy the game with your faithful, useful and easy to control robot companion.

I won't claim this game to be the best ever but I struggle to find fault with anything in it.

The game is well thought out, well balanced, well designed overall, the sense of progression is good....basically you should get this game simply because it is fun to play, however you chose to play it.

The problem with this game is its very difficult to manage big companies and replacing vehicles is a chore which only gets worse the bigger your company gets. Other issues surround trains usage of platforms and creating train junctions is far too much of a chore with the track very reluctant to make cross overs like you get at big stations in real life.

Overal big step up from their previous title but still lags behind openttd in everything but graphics, keep it up devs your nearly there. Your main focus needs to be on company management side of the game in your next title, for ideas on how to do it go play openttd and make it as easy and fun to play as that and you'll get a lot of sales.
