TF2 was once a fun and great first-person-shooter, with hardly any cheaters, and a fairly wholesome player-base.

HOWEVER, over the years (especially when the game went F2P), it has become a cesspool of toxic griefers & trolls, and cheaters have become so common, they are the new norm. Most teams now don't even care if they have a cheater on their team, and will even protect their cheater. Even though TF2 is a rather easy shooter-game, apparently its too difficult for many, who resort to use aim-assist, aimbot, crit-scripts, and other cheats, in order to get a fake win, or simply to troll other players (because misery loves company).

In addition there are many servers completely filled with cheat-bots, whose only purpose is to troll human players.

Whats worse is the developers have helped destroy the game, by purposely making teams unbalanced, not allowing team-scrambles or allowing players to move teams, and instead allowing the toxic trolls to kick anyone they don't like; and since the trolls tend to move in groups/mobs (just like the cheaters do), its common for these groups/mobs to kick the legit players who don't use cheats or scripts.

The only thing that could save TF2 at this point, is if they brought back a "classic" version of TF2 from the golden years, with the original game mechanics, maps, and game modes from back then.... but since the only thing Steam or Valve cares about is money, its not likely to happen.
