These were hours I have spent with great pleasure and thus not spent at all.

I did not read the book prior to playing, and the story seemed very natural and wholesome, even though there are some lengthy timeskips. The gameplay puzzles are alright, though there is a feeling closer to the end that they are there just because devs suddenly remember that they need them. Also, some QTEs are too fast, and gosh it would benefit from an option to restart a chapter.

However, despite all little shortcomigs, the game is really decent and makes you think and feel. And this, my dear reader, is the most important about any art piece. Thank you.

Vampyr is not a bad game. It has great atmosphere, engaging personal stories of NPCs, very nice pieces of soundtrack - but all of it manages to become overshadowed by combat. It is not bad also, but first and foremost it goes contrary to the story. Moreover, it feels really bloody long with very tough enemies and their constant respawning.

So, without combat, a bit more life from the plagued city and more evenly dispersed exposition (infodump at the end isenormmous). it would be an incredible game.

P.S. IMO the romance plot is weak ( and since it is mandatory, that's awful )

Solid 7/10. I recomend it, though by a small margin.

One of the best narrative experiences I've had in the last couple of years - Intriguing plot, non-linear story, neat and new for the genre mechanics - despite it being episodic, I wholeheartedly recommend the Council.

There are slight issues with voice-acting, but I find it to my liking nonetheless.

Solid 9/10 - not every game makes me want to have three separate parallel walkthrougs.

Well, I've been through the game now. I still recommend it and I wish the devs to continue their endeavors into gaming, but damn... Please, please, please focus on the ending more. It is something which is remembered about the game, and I wish it was better. Much better.
