More educational than fun, but recommended for anyone interested in the Titanic.

There is no possible way this game should be fun. You wash stuff. It's like work but a game.
It's the best use of my time I've ever found.
Would spend hours cleaning digital dirt again.

I used to play the other tank game for a long time but I much prefer this one.

Pros:
Amazing graphics.
Planes and tanks on the same battlefield is fun (at low levels).
Huge variety of vehicles from inter-war up to relatively modern.
90% of the maps are great to play on.
Module damage rather than hp bars makes it a lot more tactical than just spamming shots.

Cons:
Planes and tanks on the same battlefield is not fun (at high levels).
The ship battles are not that exciting.
Event vehicles are often massive timesink/ grind to earn unless you have a very high tier line-up.

Mehs:
Obviously it's a very grindy game but if you like that sort of thing it's great.
A lot of premium vehicles are cash only but that's the way these games work.

I played WOWS from Beta and loved it.

I think Steel Ocean is a better game.

Admittedly the graphics aren't quite as polished as the competition (especially the water) but the ships look fine to me during a battle and are more than pretty enough to blow up.

The things that put this above WOWS (for me):
Submarines - how easily they fit into the rest of the ship types and they work well in the game, not being too powerful or too easily countered but providing a tough challenge if you don't know what you are doing. They are a lot of fun to play.
They have a fleshed out German Navy tech tree already.
They have already added a CV and DD line of Royal Navy ships to the game (with the latest patch).
The Commander system provides an interesting bit of customisation beyond unlocking identical skills for every ship like in WOWS.
CVs don't seem as poweful, you can still get kills with your planes but it's more challenging, though you get complete freedom to launch whatever planes you want which is a nice bonus, no limits to one or two loadouts.
Being able to fire my own AA guns and Secondary batteries separately from my main batteries, a massive bonus on BBs.

There are a wide variety of maps, a number of different game types including deathmatch style Competition mode and a massive array of ships to collect. Considering the game has only been out for a month I am very opptimistic about the future and look forward to seeing what will come.

The only downside to me at the moment is the fact I have to play on a NA server meaning the lag is a bit annoying but even so the game is still playable enough and I've not had any major connection issues.
