Very rough, constantly immersion breaking experience with embarrassingly brain-dead enemies, awkward NPCs, smooth turn speed isn't calibrated right, hands look and behave like bricks, and too many other problems to list here. Game is not ready for prime time.

For a VR game, this is really boring.

It feels uninspiring, endless spamming of brain-dead enemies, objects are 2D not 3D, movement is floaty, graphics are ugly, there's no physics.

It’s basically the opposite of everything that makes a game like Ancient Dungeon look beautiful, have presence and feel immersive.

Great mod. The greater outdoor emphasis works much better than Episode 1.

A noble effort but I found the game to be too rough around the edges in too many areas.

One of the worst VR games I've played so far. The gameplay is not fun, it's annoying, it's frustrating with too many poor design choices. The game engine is not well optimized once you start advancing through the game, poor framerates (3080ti). The inventory system is awful especially when needing to move and grab at the same time during a firefight. It just doesn't work well at all. The weapons implementation feels very poor. The boss battles have some of the worst implementations I've ever seen, really bad. The NPCs voice audio is so poor you have to struggle to understand what they're trying to say. And this game feels too much like a recycling of Vertigo Remastered which did not have a lot of the problems this game has. Holy hell, not good.

Modders did a great job. The HL2 VR mod is fun. Unfortunately, this Episode 1 does not translate as well to VR, but it's still worthwhile.

Also, be sure to rebind the 'thumbstick click to sprint' to something else (e.g. Trigger touch). Thumbstick click-in broke my Index controller causing thumbstick drift. The Index controllers are notorious for getting stick drift if you click the thumbstick in. Argh!

Good origin story, cool environments and art assets. Strong Half-Life vibes with a stealth emphasis. Playing the Definitive version on Epic store.

The Devs don't do a very good job of explaining the game mechanics and various nuances as usual. Having to rely on word of mouth or guides to advance is nuts. Have to get right inside a boss where you can't see anything to kill him, really? I'll take a Last of Us and Horizon Zero Dawn game over this anytime. You have to be a bit of a masochist to finish this game. The environmental assets are pretty cool to look at though.
