The game upon release did have quite a number of issues which the original also suffered from. Taking everything into consideration the game is worth it.
I know many still moan and complain about many things, all I can say is from my own experience they are not game breakers. One common complaint is it being too dark when walking from outside into a building - um this is a normal physical experience anywhere in the RL without power. What I have found is if you give it a few seconds your game 'eye' adjusts as our actual eyes do; visa-versa coming out a really dark area into sunlight; this adds to the experience IMHO.
The atmosphere is exactly that of a survival based exploration, there are many areas to wander into and if not properly equipped then you die. There are some who complain not enough people around - um it is supposed to be a closed off zone so for me not encountering many other people adds to the experience.
Yes mutants are bullet sponges but again if you fire wildly then they do take a lot to take down, a shot-gun with buckshot makes mincemeat of most.
I must admit the food/drink choices are amusing, especially finding them in irradiated stashes :)

After playing a number of different games recently based off UE5 I feel it is more at times the issue, often getting similar bugs or odd effects.
The biggest positive is that the Dev team are listening and are implementing the fixes and tweaks.
