I think most people did talk the same points like i want to talk. So i make a short conclusion:
I really enjoyed this game. The beginning of the plot was a little bit struggling, but i enjoyed playing it since 1/3 of the game. Its acutally a simple RPG with the design from old NES games like the 1st Final Fantasy. Not only the design. The whole condition like gameplay, music and game control. Except the plot. This was very long. According to my in-game time, it took 60h to reach the credits.
So if you like the old NES games or you have a fable for this style, i definitely can recommend this game!

I finished this game after around 18h. I want to describe more the gameplay elements than the story. Afterall it is just my opinion about this game!!!
I am a big fan of the Metro Franchise. And after the first 2 games, this one was mostly different than the others. Not because of the change from claustrophobic tunnels of Moscow to the wide lands of russia, you can handle your missions knowing like other open world rpg games. I had fun with exploring landscapes, adjusting my weapons, crafting ammo and doing the side missions.
In my opinion one of the strongest elements of the franchise is the atmosphere. You can take your time to explore the areas and find some interessting spots or infiltrate an enemy checkpoint. Also the day/night cycle is a cool feature. The first time to play in night is a real different experience and has other conditions than in the day. Sure, the first 2 game has nights too. But these were programmed in the mission design.
The story is pretty solid, but i enjoyed the intermediate sequences with the train crew very much.
Weapon setup is an important element in this game. You cant just play the game with guns on default setup. Especially in Ranger Hardcore. I haven`t played this mode yet but i can imagine this situation very well.
An other element i enjoyed very much are the movement conditions close to reality. What is meant by that? If you open a door, use your binoculars, reloading(especially the shotgun) or climbing. He might be not perfect but he is definitely not a super hero and the game technology is more advanced than before(-> Cyberpunk 2077). For me the best part of that were the jams of the guns. If you shoot too long, the barrel of the gun will be jammed and you are force to reload by hand.

But the game was not perfect at all!
Like the first 2 games, it was sometimes buggy and the NPCs were not perfect animated. But i was expecting that. For me the biggest contra was the dialogue system. You have moments where 3 people are talking at the same time you are not sure which dialogue is spoken by whom. But in defence: this game company might be a medium-sized company and there are other AAA-Games from bigger companies with much more system errors than here.

As you can see i am a person to take time for a game. If you have a good atmosphere, well-made story based NPCs and a solid gameplay i will enjoy such games like Metro Exodus. I rate it as a slow game. There is no rush of it and sometimes i need it personally. I understand some people have technical problems to play this game. But you should know, this game is from 2019. Expect at least a solid PC system and not one from 2005 or something. At this time i was playing it with an older graphic card which was a little bit weaker as it demands. Of course i was worried but i finished it.
Sure it is not the best game ever. But i will play again and i want to play the trilogy in Ranger Mode one time to get the real intension :D.
