As of writing I've put a small amount of time in thanks to the beta! I can say Heretical is fun and addictive. Although the content offered in EA at the moment is not even half of what the dev team expect come launch, the variety of builds and items opens you up to a whole range of possibilities! Runs are engaging, the style is fantastic, progression will have you thinking differently across each challenge it provides and the game will have you trying out so many different builds as a result! This is an incredible experience that should be on any roguelike-enthusiast's list, especially with the price it is offered at!

Also, as a note, whilst there are and will be bugs, the devs have been one of the most open and communicative teams you'll ever see. They listen to feedback and have very often action-ed it during the beta. They do not shy away from negative feedback and have been willing to further discuss that feedback with players. Their frequent updates have always been filled with bug fixes, new items, skills, characters or more. If you have any feedback, get it over to them, they are listening! Whilst EA might have those updates spaced out into larger, more content-filled patches, the team have proven they are passionate about not only the game, but about the experience we as players have of it.
