This game seems to want to borrow shooting and cover mechanics from Gears of War, but fails to do so. The storyline is thin, disjointed, and frustrating. I found myself not caring about any of the characters, or their relationships. I felt the developers could have explored Lynch's psychosis, but mainly glossed over the SPOILER fact that he may have killed his wife. This game also features (is "features" the right word?) commanding a team, but it was not executed well, and I found myself having to corral my teammates in a safe zone while I cleared out the endless supply of idiotic AI.

Recommendation: Stay dead, Kane and Lynch.

The shooting and cover mechanics have improved significantly from the original, as well as the graphics. A "shaky cam" a la Cloverfield, has been attached to cut-scenes, as well as sprinting (somewhat like the "roadie run" from Gears of War). However, none of these improved (or cosmetic) mechanics can make up for a poor storyline, one that only somewhat is connected to the original, and SPOILER ends abruptly leaving room for a third (which has yet to surface). This game, like the original, again fails to expand upon Lynch's mental issues, and leaves out (essentially) any connection to Kane's daughter, Jenny, as well. Thus, the thin plot is weakend further by poor characterization.

Recommendation: At best, I'd let my dog play with it.
