This is a complex endorsement you see. You'll see your enjoyment of this game proportionate to how much you like Warhammer Fantasy. Age of Sigmar fans might not find what they're looking for here. This was my first Total War game, and I gather it's emblematic of several improvements made since past titles. I align my cards with other eclectic youtube personalities and say that this game will absolutely provide hours of entertainment. If you have the budget you can also purchase the factions and indulge your interests that way. There is quite a bit of bonus content to purchase but fortunate enough it doesn't seem like sale prices are rare. The multiplayer is also pretty nice actually, I've thrown hands with a friend a few times now and there's even a co-op(tional) campaign mode. This is to say you can fire up a co-op campaign and even (should you be inclined) wage war in that sandbox. One of the good Warhammer games for certain.

I'm getting season's pass fatigue, and with 700+CAD$ worth of skins and DLC available, I just don't think I can endorse this game anymore. It must be vogue and trendy to tag in celebrity rockerboy/corpo types to keep the gravy train flowing. I hope Post Malone laughed all the way to the bank with that bag.

Hunt:Showdown is one of those rare examples of a game that loses more maps and content over time. They've nuked their lore for greed and avarice. I maintain that solo play is still cooked. Rife with disadvantages and handicaps before you even engage the concept of how ineffective easy-anti cheat has proven to be.

I'd posit you can cheat with a renewing subscription cheaper and cheaper these days. Truly a shame. So many compromises made at the level of story direction. So much laziness and apologia when it comes to trust building and the anti-cheat task force.

tl:dr- Crytek has passed the buck and wants us all to record our lives before they'll do anything about their game rife with cheating. In turn monetization of every content drop to the umpteenth degree. A desired market base in those with short memories, heavy wallets and a fear of missing out.

Springtime 2023, same problems as last year only getting worse. BB bundle changes tell me everything I need to know about Crytek's avarice. I implore you to reconsider getting into Hunt Showdown in the current year.

Springtime 2022. Crytek is complacent and negligent in the face of a bug that allows players to see and shoot through walls. All it takes is a ladder and a little know how. Footstep cheats, aim ♥♥♥ and wall hacks have been everywhere this event and I'm really just disappointed that all crytek seems interested in doing is flipping assets and trying to make a quick buck. Digital scarcity is the biggest scam in gaming and I wish we'd all vote a bit better with our wallets.

Christmas Event 2021 really irked me. Crytek has seen fit to sell falsely scarce pixels and is racing towards the profit margins. They'll laugh all the way to the bank and we're none the wiser as a hobbyist group. Unless you like a F2P/Mobile means of support in a product you've already supported, the as advertised cost is not the entire package for Hunt: Showdown.

And what have we to show for all this financial support?

I run into someone with a VACban on record at least once per play session playing solo on US East. I've seen people HP hack, I've seen people spawn themselves infinite Frag grenades, I've seen people aimbot and wall hack. You come to deeply question your skill and sense of mathematics when so-and-so cheater survives impossible levels of damage and one-taps you.

I understand the rationale of dismissing this vis-a-vis degenerates cheat in every game but where the fly lands in the ointment for Hunt is that death is permanent. It stings in particular if you roll Solo so you best get accustomed to losing that level 50 Hunter to some plucky reprobate fast-passing their way to the Leaderboard with cheats. Don't believe me? Just take inventory of the Top 100 players and see for yourself.

The community is tone deaf about this.

I've never felt a game punish me more for rolling solo and in the year 2021 I can't be arsed to queue up with random players. I've experienced racial slur spamming, intentionally team-wounding players and in this life you need to respect yourself more than that. It's the company you keep at the end of the day right?

The setting is thrilling and has a certain novelty that I can appreciate. Old Western tropes meet Zombie apocalyptic doom and gloom. Instance based Arena shooter? Sign me up! Maybe I just missed the boat for the game's golden age. Such as it is I cannot endorse people even picking it up on sale. Do yourself the favour of enjoying it at a distance.

Would I recommend Sea of Thieves? An emphatic yes. Though before I go into it I would preface the entire review with the following; My experiences will not be universal. I've sailed the majority of my hours solo on a Shloop. The odd duos. I know there are other ships but I can never seem to get enough people together to sail on those.

Conjure a distillate of all the combat in every pirate book or movie you know. Weigh out a measuring of Rare's tongue in cheek comedy. Lay it on a scaffolding of oceanic soundscapes, tropical and foreboding almost east-coast Atlantic seeming locales and a par excellence soundtrack. Inject a mainline of player-driven and emergent game play and VOILA.

Sea of Thieves presents as a pirate sandbox and in a few short months I've been quite captivated. My childhood was graced with some of Rare's earlier works and this title in many ways feels true to their form. I'm endeared, though I have but one simply, maybe humble request. Allow me to take a Skeleton curse on my pirate. Oh, and maybe a boarding Axe would be nice.

I would like to preface my review with letting the reader know my experiences will not be universal. I clocked in many child hood hours with family members in Baldur's Gate 1 and 2. The 2nd edition rule set seemed obtuse, abrasive even. THAC0? What on earth was that? Flash forward some time and it's the year 2020. Baldur's Gate 3 is entering early Access and in thrilling news, It's ostensibly running on 5E rules. Eager to revitalize an appreciation for The Sword coast and Faerun at large I bought in. I rolled a Tiefling ranger. I recreated a collective of some of my favorite table top characters and settled on a class, play style, mental alignment chart. It took me about 28 hours to get to the end of early access, setting sail into darkness I put the wraps on a stealthy archer based solo clear and I was having a real good time. Didn't run aground much of any glitches. I'm a glutton for punishment and found myself loading many old saves in desperate pleas (or maybe gambits) to find the right path through clearing each encounter as a single hero. At worst you'll find yourself lamenting putting another metaphorical d20 in dice jail, at best you'll find yourself immersed in a tremendous world of fantasy that feels like it's ticking a lot of boxes for top tier RPG status. This review was generated during the Early Access period but I can still feel like it's a good experience. It shows promise and I look forward to full release.

I'm very captivated. Enter a counter-factual and nuanced retelling of the classic Greek foibles and mythology you know. Redressed in a game play loop sophisticated enough to make even character death just another part of the fun ecosystem. As befitting a Super Giant game the cast is endearing, even those quirky few run ending villains you meet start to feel less like an enemy and more like a sparring partner and that's diegesis. Oh yeah and the soundtrack is an absolute bop. Knocked it out of the park for me. I'm off to play some more and hang out with my adoptive and dysfunctional Greek deity family.

Taking what was a free and cherished seasonal update, doing the bare minimum to add some assets. Dividing the community on it. Then charging the equivalent of enough coffees for you and five friends. I'd probably save the cash next time and coffee is on me.

And the drought of good Warhammer 40k games continues. I wish I could've been able to endorse Necromunda. For me it's the glitches. I can get a stiff upper lip about a few drops here and there. But I've been robbed online victories for my gangs due to circumstances outside of my control. If you plan to market a product that has such glaring troubles without proper play-testing don't be ashamed to early access release. I appreciate transparency that way, as it's not so anti-consumer. What you have here in the final product is a turn based squad shooter with an uninspired Warhammer 40k dress. While the set pieces all feel really impressive and capture the feeling of the underhive environments, the recycled costumes (just go ahead and count the mohawks you'll see in each cutscene), rehased lines of dialogue ("Are you sure you're tough enough?" "Yeah I'm tough enough!" "No way let's fight!") and trophy presentation of gritty cyberpunk gang wars that bog me down from enjoying it more.

At the risk of sounding jaded, I'm familiar enough with the lore to know there's a great deal more gangs that ought to be showing up in the Underhive but I suppose Focus Home Interactive has shareholders to please with micro-transaction dollars. I know people that have spent less on the models themselves (before DLCs) and it's hard to beat that sort of theater of the mind.

I would happily endorse this product with glitch fixes, and a promise that the downloadable content that seems inevitable won't be scuffed, inordinately expensive or break the game's balance. Here's hoping future Warhammer 40k games are prepared to take notes on the shortcomings of it's predecessors.

It's charming, it shows promise too!

You know all that preamble when you fire up Rainbow Siege Six on what class you and your friends will play? How you want to conduct your play styles and coordinate? Due Process does things differently, and it's a welcome breath of reprieve in what might otherwise start to feel like an over saturated market of competitive first person shooters. With that in mind I'm endeared tremendously to all things cyberpunk. If you've caught yourself enjoying media capturing gritty retro-futurism with a pinch of corporate tyranny you'll find yourself liking the backdrop here. A word on backdrop, each instance will feel novel, you'll catch yourself trying to employ strategies to adjust to procedure generated map layouts.

All and all I look forward to the future of this game and paid more for less in my competitive shooters in the past.

Slapping a game play altering filter on a map that's been reversed loses it's novelty real fast. One new map. No new cosmetics. A game play difficulty I've yet to see because despite three hot fixes most Public queue players can't beat Legend. Reeks of greed. Pick up on sale and only have one person in your game group do it for hosting the new map. The Weave and Cataclysm seem dead on arrival.
