I grabbed this game thinking it wouldn't be great but at least worth 15min... Holy crap this game is amazing. Get past the first part where the soldiers come and you're guaranteed to start feeling your blood pressure spike heavily! This thing is getting heavily slept on and I don't know why!
This is a must for anyone with VR!

I can understand why people would be annoyed with pvp.
If you're on AMD GPU, try the different Anti Aliasing settings in graphics settings to fix some of the odd graphical bugs.
However, if you play the pve servers damn this game is fun. Essentially what I've been asking for from Tarkov for years but now you don't have to pay $250 for it ;)
Dev's appear to be very active and making changes quickly while also taking criticism well which is a huge plus.
Player community on the PVE servers is really good so far. Like, surprisingly so...
If you want Tarkov PVE in a truly massive persistent server, get this right now.
If you want to go hard in PVP, prolly best to wait a month for more patches to fix some of the quality of life issues.

This game is so fundamentally bad I'm convinced the people giving it thumbs up are bots or fiends of the dev or something.
Like, it's elementary bad... This game is pre-alpha and as dated as it gets (but not in a cool retro way).
Serious basic fundamental design decision flaws you'll notice immediately upon playing and it doesn't appear to get better. You just see more and more design decisions that will have you scratching your head repeatedly. I'm convinced the loot boxes were used because the dev didn't have the know how or resources to figure out how to add the items within dynamically in the environment.
This feels very very much like someone was tinkering with a game engine and tried to piece together paid for assets to make their and game, got it somewhat playable, and threw it up on steam.
Don't buy this.

If you liked POE or any Diablo game then this is a must have.
It's more complicated than Diablo but way simpler than POE.
Very polished from what I've seen so far and I'm lvl 48 so far.
Tons of voice overs of high quality, good graphics, combat feels good.
One of the more polished games I've purchased tbh which is a welcome change.
It's pretty unique in regards to the world you are playing in and how that plays into the story etc. That bit I think is something people will love or hate but I don't want to get into it as it's pretty spoiler heavy.
If you like top-down games, it's worth the money. It's really that simple.

A golden standard that all base builder survival games should strive for.
This game has a few things that are lacking but they are so overshadowed by what it does well that you don't even notice it until you have nothing else to do.
If you are into survival, base building, people management, or even Skyrim.. You should enjoy this game. I highly suggest playing with a friend now that they released coop.

If you play this on console I have a feeling it's a much better experience... I have played it quite a bit and even though I enjoy it for the most part. I can't recommend it.
Hackers are rampant and game breaking.
The port from console to PC itself is pretty terrible. I'd expect much better from a AAA game company.
Tons and tons of very irritating bugs, especially if you are grouped.
After years of charging players money for initial product and in game gold, they have refused to patch a single issue in 3 years.
You may enjoy this game, but RS doesn't give a crap about you or your experience with this game unfortunately. If there was anything similar, everyone would flock to it.

UPDATE: They did fix the massive bugs and everything appears to be working properly now. Having a blast with this game and they are incredibly responsive in the Steam forums which is a good sign. Even if they don't test stuff properly before they release it, at least they are quick to fix it and communicate often with the community. Swapping the recommendation to a thumbs up =)

The game itself is great... When it's working correctly.
That said, it's plagued with game breaking bugs that have no workaround currently as they are server side issues by neocore games own admission. Such as loot disappearing. When I say loot disappearing, I mean all the loot.
They are also having issues with the site itself which can make it impossible to report bugs (insult to injury).
If they ever fix the worst of these bugs I'll change my tune but for now, stay far away from this.

This review has a caveat. Don't touch it if you aren't rocking a very strong gaming rig.
Minus the glitches, it's legit one of the best games I've ever played easily. I don't say that lightly.
Graphics, scale, character depth, storytelling, immersion, combat, driving, etc... All top notch.
That said, I have a very solid gaming rig with a RTX 3080 ftw3 and am finding myself still constantly trying to find the perfect settings so the graphics don't eventually go haywire and try to give me seizures lol.
I wouldn't touch this if you don't at bare minimum have a 3070 or equiv and would strongly suggest a 3080/3090 or something comparable to truly enjoy the game.
When it's running right and you have the graphics cranked... It's a whole other level of immersion you can't get from many other games. Like, seriously... Epic af.

I really like this game.. A lot. I would recommend it if it weren't crashing every 20 min-1 hour. I have scoured the internet for the last few days looking for a resolution and found that I'm not the only person with this issue. Not by a long shot. I have tried all the suggestions and while I was able to get the crashes to be a little less frequent they are still quite frequent and make the game not worth playing unfortunately.
Will change my review if this CPU/GPU loop bug is patched.

This game has a lot of potential but that seems to be the creedo these days for any game with a negative review or that's barely worth downloading.
It appears the dev is actually constantly working on it though so that's a very good sign.
It's already got plenty of things right that the DayZ dev didn't fix for over 5 years so it's got that going for it. Then again, it's on the Unreal Engine so not a huge surprise there as UE is very easy to work with.
Honestly, my biggest current gripe is the buildings feel like a carbon copy of DayZ buildings and are about as empty. For the most part it just needs more content. Some polish would be nice but I didn't run across anything game breaking. I'd rather have content/features than more polish at the moment of writing this.
Also, and maybe this is just me, but the guns seem too weak vs zombies. I found myself always reverting back to melee.
I think it's worth $5 just to see where he goes with it. If he weren't constantly patching it, I'd say hold off.
