bought the game on sale in September 2022 based on recent reviews saying it was no longer buggy.

Experienced several bugs in my first hour before finishing with a game breaking bug where the game stayed "saving" forever during Milltech training (combat tutorial). I had to quit the game, reboot my pc and reload a previous Autosave. progressed to the next Autosave point and had the same bug again. Refund request submitted.

If the game isnt fixed at this point its not going to be fixed.

Early Access Review
the game is obviously in early access. ive played close to 60 hours and have some things id like to see change listed below. in terms of recommending this game, so far im enjoying it and am happy with what i paid.

few things i have been thinking about, not sure if they are already planned for release:

more focus on damage types and defense types; for example piercing not being strong vs skeletons etc. my ranger was 1 shotting skeletons with his arrows.

mages casting in medium and heavy armor unless they are warrior subclass should be blocked (for example githyanki wizard with a 2h sword and lae'zel's medium armor equipped at level 1 seems a bit much...

offhand weapon size effecting to hit rolls. (encouraging use of small and tiny offhand weapons)

anything to encourage rogue to use daggers instead of rapier or scimitar

less firewine barrels, oil barrels etc.

skill checks are completely balanced towards certain characters. Rolling a woodelf rogue will give 9 proficencies and good rolls everywhere. Rolling a warlock will usually mean decent int and charisma to get through most conversations, while rolling a dwarf warrior (typically low wisdom, int and charisma) makes the conversations in the game extremely frustrating. consider allowing companions make rolls with their stats to encourage a diverse party?
I understand that high charisma should open up dialogue and thats fine but its like a high strength character just misses content instead of having to find another way of going about it.

make intimidate a strength roll

make animal handling and nature scale off wisdom. the type of druids and rangers who stack wisdom would be expected to be masters of nature. these same characters will not have spare points for intellect and it doesnt seem to fit to have a wise old ranger or druid know nothing about nature or animals.

shared gold at shops and also allow all characters to use the highest members charisma for sell prices?

jump should not be such a free disengage. either make jump an action or make it trigger attacks of opportunity. either make players push+jump or use a disengage skill first and roll to break engagement before jumping.

hit dice per class? warrior and wizard with same strength should roll differently to reflect a lifetime of martial training vs little to none. (if this is already going on behind the scenes i havent noticed)

game is being updated almost daily, so i have started about 10 campaigns over the first two weeks since launch and amassed 138 hours of game time.

I can say that i really enjoy this game, there are several different aspects to it and ways to play it that stop it from getting quickly boring, it is quite hard in the beginning to decide what you are going to do as it is very sandbox style with only one main storyline to guide you.

Game feels somewhat unfinished which is i suppose to be expected in an early access, but definitely worth picking up.

was hesitant purely because of the animal cartoon characters, but actually really fun game. feels like fallout, maybe they had to use animals to not be too like fallout tbh lol
