As a massive fan of this time period and a paradox fan of almost 20 years this game is a huge letdown. The last two paradox releases (hearts of iron 4 and stellaris) were also big disappointments at release but at least they brought some new features to the table but this game brings absolutely nothing.

What probably makes it worse is that im such a big fan of this time period, it couldve been such a great game if done right but its awful. boring, bland, repetitive and ultimately a waste of £35

the devs said theyre happy with the release which to me means either they are now taking their games in a different more multiplayer orientated direction or its gonna cost me a another £60+ of paid dlcs to make it the game it should be.

i really hope they add much more content for free to make the game much more enjoyable before they start charging for dlc.

My opinion on Imperator Rome now 4 years on when it was releases is that its now one of my favourite ever games. Thankfully they did add a lot of free post release content and the dlc was great as well.

Anyone who has an interest in this fascinating period of history should definitely get this game!
