Best Looter/Shooter, Run&Gun game out there. IMHO.

I purchased this game after reading about the great support provided by the developer. Knowing that it is unfinished, i have lower expectations but i have to say i was pleasantly surprised. there are a few bugs, things that dont work as intended some graphic placeholders, etc. but looking beyond that, it's hella good.

I would highly recommend the purchase. Support the developers to continue their amazing game development. I have every confidence that they are in it for the duration of the project.

While I only partially agree with some of the reviews that comment on it's re-hash of FC3 elements, there are enough of the things I liked about FC2 added in that I feel compensated. I didnt expect a total redesign of the game mechanics and I DID know what I was getting by simply watching the game videos displayed on Steam. If you expected something different, that's on you...they delivered on what they promised. And boy has it been fun. My first run through I skipped a lot because I was caught up in the story and wanted it to progress smoothly. It seemed short but playing through a second time for completion and cheevos there's a whole lot that I missed.

I have not had any technical issues and I have a low end to middle of the road PC (5 year old HP with graphics card and RAM upgrades). That's all the tech review I can give you, sorry.

All in all, it's a great addition to the FarCry collection and one hell of a thrill ride.

Oh, and dear developers, please consider recording more radio commentary and releasing as free DLC. Since Rockstar put talk-radio in it's games way back when and set the bar high for in-game radio playback (including MP3 tie-ins.)

Nifty Sci-fi tech - check
Deserted theme park - check
Shotgun - check
Extra credit for being creative about murdering a bunch of maniacal degenerates - check
...and a whole lot of cursing - double check.

Great thrill ride...though it's not open world the linear game play is such that you feel driven the entire time. Keeps you on your toes and really makes you want to play it again for a better kill-combo score.

Highly recommended.

I stopped fast traveling because there is so much to see between villages. So many things that aren't on the map...I feel like Russel Crowe's character in Gladiator...just closing my eyes and touching the grass. You can almost feel the wind blowing and the life in the environment...well..until my bulldog farts and blows the whole illusion. My wife is tired of me going..."OMG, look at this..." and pointing to another epic landscape that's nearly photo-realistic.

Fun.

Wait? Did you say I could team up with complete strangers who would instantly mistake any action I take as an insult (either a loss of connectivity or shooting a target they were going to hit) and then being rude or going afk for the rest of the run. Where do I sign up?
Did you say I could run the same set of maps over and over with no diversity, no path changes or objective differences? Holy Cow...who else has the cahones to offer that?
Do you mean to tell me, that if I paid you real money...real life money...I could be more successful by having better ingame gear? That...that is completely made for elementary school playground, "this-is-a-solution-for-not-having-a-good-leveling-mechanic", "money-CAN-buy-me-love" kind of thing.
I honestly enjoyed playing the first dozen levels or so until the players started getting into that zone where they take it too seriously and were obviously living in Mom's basement. I think there are great elements of the game that are just trashed by elements of stale gameplay. I hope that there will be additional development before it is officially released but not as $$$DLC$$$ or as an expansion. (riiiiiggggghhhht)

And I must say that the term "closed beta" is being mis-used here as this really doesnt qualify once you are reaching an audience the size of Steam's subscribers.

So...all in all...enjoy it while you can enjoy it...because after the release, it's either going to fill up with diehard PVP psychos on one extreme or little kids on the other who go AFK and leave you with a partial crew and that means that about 12.57% of the players left will be just people who like to play for the love of the 'game' (whatever the hell that is).
