The game takes some time to adjust to. Spend some time in training doing free play. Learn how to handle the puck and get some shooting basics down. Huge improvement on the first game. It's free to play. If you like hockey or sports games, give this a look. The devs spend a lot of time listening to the community and try to improve the game constantly. You're out nothing by trying this game out. There is no pay to win. You don't have to buy anything, but purchasing cosmetics helps the development if you like the game.

Look, before you read further let's be honest. This is not a Madden killer. This is not a game with superb graphics or animations. However, this game is a game built around a community. It's come a long way in a short time. I've grown tired of Madden and their continual support of MUT over franchise/single player gamers. I've supported Axis for years to help their growth. It has come a long way. Their franchise mode is growing year after year. They are trying to be a fun alternative for football, not a competitor to AAA titles. They have an insanely active discord where their team responds and listens to your commentary. They want to make the game play the way we want it to. This game is 100% physics based and is a bit tricky to play because of that. You don't get lock on animations that cover user error. What you get is plays based on player ratings and physics. This isn't for everyone, and that's understandable. It can be frustrating to miss an interception because you took a chance. However for me, I take it as it is. I messed up and was too aggressive. I believe in backing hardworking indie devs that are working hard for the community. Danny Jugan sold me YEARS ago when I had a launch save broken and he personally emailed me some options to fix it and got me up and going. Danny and his team at Axis care. I believe in them not only from their hard work, but their results. I've seen the progress through the years. This is the first game I've spent this much time with. I'm a husband with two kids and don't have a ton of time to play. I finally had the time to play and bought the game 2 days ago. I'm already 10 games in on my dynasty this year and felt like I was ready to review. This review is all over the place because it's just me talking. If you are looking for a group to get behind and support but aren't sold, we welcome you to the discord. Share your feedback from what you see in gameplay videos. We want all the feedback we can get. Football gamers deserve progress in video games. In my opinion, Madden franchise hasn't been as deep as Axis 2020 since '05. I welcome anyone to their discord to get in on the conversations. https://discord.gg/mCyGFnP Axis Football 2020, Make Football Gaming Great Again.

Played around with the beta. The game has kind of a steep learning curve but still very fun. Jumped into their discord to learn the ropes and get some help and they were all super friendly and accommodating. If you're looking for a new sports game experience give this a shot.

I appreciate what these guys did, however after beating it in 15 mins I just was confused. Is this supposed to lead to more? Is this it? It was interesting if you take a bit more time and are naive about how you investigate. I either got super lucky and discovered all of what I needed right away or was an amazing detective. Again, great work by these guys. Just confused for a super quick "tech demo" with no apparent follow-up. My recommendation if you get it, take your time and look around a bit longer.

It's free, just get it. To be fair to these guys that made it, it's a decent game. The puck physics are pretty ♥♥♥♥ when you save it. The puck will sit in front of you, don't try to clear it with your stick. Most likely you'll just score it somehow by some magical force. For a free game, I've had fun with it. My hours played are skewed because there is no story, I just jump on for 10 mins at a time and get some exercise in. It's worth the "purchase".

Once upon a time I was a very solid baseball player. Not here to brag on, only using that to preface what I'm about to say. Swung as hard as I could as if swinging a bat, 410 ft homer. Next hit was a glorified bunt swing meant to just hit the ball based on trajectory, 470 ft homer. What?! It's a decent party game if you're looking for just some basic fun. If you're looking for anything beyond just a little party fun, pass.

I've bought every WWE 2k game so far. This is the first one that I've felt truly hooked to. Every one of them I've bought at launch. I'm already halfway to the hours spent in total on 2k18. I'll say this obvious statement, any game review is subjective. With that I'll give why I like this game and recommend it.

In years past, the Universe mode felt untouched. It felt like it never got any love. I saw this one had minor changes and was very disappointed. However, those minor changes have made this mode so much more playable for me. In 2k18 I simmed through and Baron Corbin was my Universal Champion. I spent MONTHS trying to dethrone him, but somehow he retained. Triple threat matches, HIAC vs stronger opponents, etc. He still retained. Now you can set who can compete for belts via divisions. Do you want (insert any wrestler here) to not be eligible for a belt? Keep them out of a division and make them a true jobber. Do you want to give Heath Slater an IC push? Put him in the IC division. Do you want to give Zach Ryder a WWE push? Put him in that division. It makes it feel like you truly have control. If someone gets a belt and you truly don't like it? Vacate it. Even better yet, when you start your show, if you don't play the matches, sim the match and say who you want to win.

The in game feels like it flows better. Reversals seem more crisp. Controls feel more fluid. I'm not really sure overall what all feels better, but the game just feels a lot better. The payback system while some feel is arcadey feels like the real show. Can give you the momentum to turn the tide just like something you'd see on a tv.

TLDR: There really isn't any single opinon on this game that one should trust, simply because it depends on what you're looking for. I don't play online, I just do Universe and just some random matches. For me, this is the best WWE game in years. I've not been happy with a WWE 2k game in some time, in fact I have hoped 2k would lose the license. However, this one has me super excited to see what they do in the future. If you get this game I hope you get the entertainment out of it that I have. I am excited every day to come and play it with what time I have available. Hopefully if you pick it up you feel that way too.

When I think about where Golf Club started, this is a great improvement. Graphically it's not a major step forward. I'm okay with that and here's why.

I feel like the ball physics respond better to the terrain and overall control of the swing feels a bit tighter. I appreciate the little additions such as being able to speed up the game while the ball is in the air. There are times I'm looking to get a quick 18 in, and previous games you had to wait for it at normal speed. I also feel that load times have gotten better. The PGA element is a nice addition, I hope it adds some future courses down the line. The main thing about this series is it's course building element. You can play an insane number of courses from the addition of real courses all the way to some insane fantasy courses.

If you haven't played TGC before, expect a more simulation feel to the game. There is no button mashing or ball manipulation in mid air. If you've played previous GC games, this feels very familiar. Was it worth the $50 to get? That's a loaded question but for me it is most certainly a yes. I am getting more enjoyment out of this than I did with TGC 2. Everyone will be different. Worst case scenario give it two hours and refund it if you don't care for it. TGC has become my favorite golf game, and I used to be a huge Tiger Woods golf fan. I appreciate finding the right shot and taking some chances a bit more knowing I can't bail myself out with some insane spin.

TL/DR: Some slight improvements that made the game more enjoyable in my opinion. It may not be everyone's cup of tea, but if you're a fan of golf, it is worth at least a shot.
