Imagine if Ubisoft made a game where instead of climbing a tower every 15 minutes, you only have to climb one per each region.
And also instead of 100 forts in each region there are 100 unique, well thought out puzzles.
The main downside is that the combat is very simple character action style combat that never gets very deep. And arguably has a most effective tactic that takes away most of the depth late game.
Recommended if you: Enjoy puzzles, cheesey comedy, puzzles, exploration, and puzzles.
Not recommended if you: Think that Breath of the Wild took away your ability to enjoy games inspired by it that might be on a lower level than it is.

In seriousness:
If you're interested in Japanese culture, cuisine, architecture, etc. this is a very cool immersive experience in terms of touring some of Japan.
Feels kind of like being immersed in an actually good live-action anime. (I know, that's not a real thing)
Graphically it looks insane, and I'm managing 4k, low ray tracing, medium settings with dlss on with a 3070 and i7 10700F. It still looked amazing before I even turned RT on.
Gameplay, it's an open world first person shooter with a supernatural coat of paint that feels pretty unique compared to some of the other games of a similar genre on offer out there.
Just a warning: The tutorial of the game is rotund to put it mildly, and you'll be introduced to the world with a slooow burn over the course of a couple of hours. If long tutorials are a deal breaker, stay away.
Otherwise this gets my seal of approval. I think it's an under-appreciated gem that got a bad rap, and unnecessary amount of hate when it first launched.

45+ Hour update:
I've taken a few breaks from the game to prevent burnout, but I'm still going, and still having a blast every time I play. Also I feel I should add that I picked hard mode, and am very happy with the balance on it. I don't think i'd be quite as engaged if I had've picked something easier.

The game has been enticing to 100%, or at least for the relics, since they're all educational tidbits about Japanese culture and history. I reiterate: if your'e into Japanese culture, this game is awesome. If you don't care about it, you might be disappointed with what's on offer.

The most smooth feeling Resident Evil game to date.
The only bad thing I have to say about it is that grapples that don't visually damage your character shouldn't take large chunks of health from you (on hardcore+)
Despite that, this is pretty much a must-play for any Resident Evil, horror, or 3rd person action game fan.

Amazing game.
Just don't make a storm cleric expecting it to be fun, because Wrath of the Storm will likely never be changed to actually give you the reaction option when you're attacked. There's too much here for them to ever fix every aspect of it, so you'll have to overlook a thing or two that fall into the .01% of things wrong with it.

I don't think i'm quite neurodivergent enough to enjoy wandering in an empty desert for 30 minutes before being eaten by dogs, but more power to ya if that's your thing.

Edit:I'm gonna give it another shot. I'm also changing it to recommended either way. I've seen enough videos of people explaining the fun to know this is a game that many will enjoy, even if I don't end up being one of them. See you on the other side of me giving Kenshi a 2nd chance.

2nd Edit: Yeah, nah. It's not for me.

Giving up "recall" is probably the most unfair piece of gameplay I've ever experienced. I'd rather fight 3 dark souls bosses in a row with nothing but my pinky toe for a weapon before I ever install this and try it again.

Disclaimer: Must play with v-sync on to ensure potentially game-breaking bugs do not occur. Unfortunately this also locks the game to 30fps.

Recommended if:
-You like supernatural mysteries
-You are interested in tracking down a lot of hidden collectibles
-You want something that will only take up a little under 10 hours of your time
Not recommended if:
-Lack of action is a deal-breaker for you
-You can't look past strange game design decisions (they tend to have strange symbols on the maps that you'd think are pointing to something that never are. There are many "hiding spots" available in locations where there are never enemies. Stealth sections that are just not good, but also aren't super punishing thankfully.)
-You don't think the price is worth a 10 hour ish game with some issues.

Update: Upon reaching chapter 2, I started to get some pretty bad performance drops. At this point the game very much needs some optimization patches. Fingers crossed, because otherwise this is 10/10 so far. Dropping to 1080p for now.
Nvidia 3070
Had to tweak a lot to get 60 frames at 2k with good looking graphics, but finally the simplest answer was the best.
1. Latest drivers are mandatory. I had mine rolled back to 2.55 so my adobe premiere worked correctly, 9fps. Just downloading recent drivers boosted to 28fps.
After this, i still struggled with stuttering and/or muddy-horrible graphics until i hit this sweet spot:
DLSS balanced
Leave your overall graphic settings on auto.
ENJOY!

-Criminally underrated.
-If you love Undertale, you'll probably love this too.
-Combat is awkward at first, but you become a ninja with your reflexes by the end of the game.
-Lots of secrets to find. I ended my first play through with 46 hidden achievements still to go.
-Has lots of inspirational quotes regarding the topic of death, and may help you if you struggle with a fear of mortality.
-Stays fun all the way through.

Had a weird allergy attack at the end of the game. My eyes got super water-ey.
In all seriousness, I did not expect the developers to top To the Moon, but they did it somehow. The story is even more beautiful, the mystery is even more twisting and interested, the comedy relief is even more funny, and the over-arcing main story is now something I am extremely invested in.
I don't think you can have emotions and not love this series.
