The game has serious problems with saving consistently. I got as far as I could before it became far too frustrating to have to restart the game and replay parts before it would let me save my progress. Eventually after reloading a save again because of not being able to update my save, the part that I had to do glitched and wouldn't let me progress again. I tried multiple compatibility modes, and there is barely any information online about possible fixes. Only solutions involve not having non-english characters in your windows login name?! It seriously needs a patch to be worth playing and given its age, it's doubtful that will ever happen. I'm going to go enjoy the story on youtube instead.

Early Access Review
Edited from early access when the game wouldn't work for me:
Was scared the game still wouldn't work. I had to disable splash screens to get past a frozen black screen while starting up. Once I did, it was smooth sailing from there.
I'm glad they added a mode without o2 and timers, since this is pretty chill to just do at your own pace. There's a lot here for everyone, since you can either go for super challenging settings, or laid back settings. (My kind of thing so I can watch a show in the background, like Firely, which fits the vibes pretty well.)

It's hilarious, it's challenging, it's fun, and Rainbowdragoneyes did the soundtrack. (You should go listen to him if you like video game music and death/black metal) 10/10

-Super complex
-Diablo fans, welcome to your new addiction
-Get a loot filter for the current league economy and update it regularly. You'll thank me and the people who keep telling you that when you do.
-There's even more coming soon with the Path of Exile 2 update and it looks killer

Update: They fixed two of the only things I could've possibly found wrong with this game in an update. That being you can place markers on the in game map, so you don't have to take notes or draw maps outside of the game if you're going for 100%. And the other thing is you can teleport between more places now, helping out with travel and backtracking. And apparently there is now a doggo you can pet. 10/10 must own for sure now.

It's Castlevania-souls. Unpopular opinion: It's also better than Bloodstained RotN. (It feels far less clunky than Bloodstained feels before you unlock all the movement stuff mid-game) If you like Castlevania and Souls-likes, you're cheating yourself by not playing this. The only small downside I can find for it is that there is only one weapon. However, kind of like Metroid, there are a ton of ways to upgrade and change up the things you can do, so it's not that big of a deal.

I would rate the challenge level on par with the Castlevania series more forgiving games, in that learning patterns is essential, but it's not so punishing as games like Dark Souls, at least on the initial playthrough. New Game + that was added in the free dlc will apparently make that a little less true.

Pros:
-Good humor
-Intense action
-Lots of character customization such as:
-Lots of weapons
-Near infinite weapon upgrades (like the way Borderlands generates weapons with different stats)
-Upgradeable skills
-A lot of content (35 hours in I'm at 73% completion)
-Multiple Difficulties so you can either be overpowered, or respectably challenged

Cons:
-Story kind of feels like it's the sidecar on this journey
-Dialogue quips can get repetative

Overall: 9/10 will play again

Cannot currently recommend. There are mass amounts of players using cheats to farm pubg's crates, so that they can turn a profit by selling the contents for cash. It is rare to end up in a top 10 position without another player using hacks there with you.

The only way the game will be fixed is by turning off the crate system, or possibly by making the crate items untradeable through steam.

Currently bluehole turns a profit by banning farmers who will just buy a new account, dropping another 30$ in their pocket for most bans, so I wouldn't expect a fixed game in the near future.

Fix this problem and my review turns positive, bluehole.
