Alright, after completing this game here are my thoughts.
In the beginning I was loving this game, it had the same powerful beat-downs that would put a smile on my face when achieving a cinematic free form fight with a group of thugs.
As I progressed through the game the flaws started to show. I bought this game recently when it had gone on sale, so thankfully most of the bugs that made it to the initial release were not an issue for me. I did read all of the numerous patch notes and the volume of bugs and fixes they list was above average which in my opinion is unacceptable and gives me the feeling that the game was rushed.
I thought the story was well composed and I don't mind the lesser known villains in this game because the origin story calls for them, and that may just be an excuse, but I'd rather they used lesser known villains then try to shoehorn super-villains in the game "just to have them".

It has been a year or so since I played Arkham Asylum and City so I was inevitably comparing this game to its predecessors, but it was mostly from memory. After finishing Origins I was compelled to go back and play the first two and that's where Arkham Origins falls flat. Arkham Asylum was released in 2009 and it is superior to Origins in almost every way. The fighting is a lot tighter and the animations are more fluid when changing directions in free flow. What was the most surprising (or maybe not so because of the trend these days with console ports) was the higher quality of textures, lighting and normal maps in Asylum, the environments are lot more interesting as well. The voice acting is great in Origins and I thought Troy Baker did a excellent Joker, but after hearing Mark Hamill again it's hard to want to go back.
My bottom line, I would recommend this game in its current state if you can get it on sale. In my opinion it serves only as a bridge between Arkham City and Arkham Knight, because Origins was not developed by Rocksteady and unfortunately it shows.
