So this game has been in "development" for years.

The problems:
The CGI cut scenes are incredibly bad and dated. Like legit feels like the scenes were rendered before the game announcement was made back in 2018
Ship AI/Pathing needs improving/reworking (Harvesters, Support Frigates don't really behave as they should)
The story (so far, only 7 missions in) just doesn't really make sense and is very disjointed and it is just bad story telling.
This game for some odd reason makes a 4080 sweat, so there's some optimization issues going on
Ship selecting can be odd at times
Somehow lost my cursor a few times, so had to reload from last save/checkpoint.
Some missions don't really make sense at times outside of demonstrating some kind of "feature" or ship and again just feels off "Oh here's a problem" and instantly "Here, research the ship to help with that"
Compared to HW1, the pacing as well of the story is far too accelerated/feels too forced
There's no other factions/races or interaction with the universe so to speak.
The music or lack of variation, HW1 had some beautiful scores. Whereas HW3... there's Adagio for Strings and then there's Adagio for Strings and some more Adagio for String... No atmosphere, no feeling or emotion really

The Ok
The interface is much better compared to the demo a few months back
Yeah... nothing really "ok" with this game

The good
Camera control isn't too bad
It is a pretty (but again, don't get why it's so intense on the GPU)

Honestly for been so long, so much time, I feels the did nothing for the first 2-3 years and then started doing the development in a rush.... Not exactly expecting a new BG3 GOTY ordeal, but this game is just disappointing and is it let down.

They should have dropped the nonsense CGI scenes, stuck with the simple and yet nicely drawn stills with light animations like in HW1, keep it clean, build it up gradually and build up the universe so to speak gradually. They shouldn't haven bothered wasting time, money and effort with the travesty of their mobile game.

The foundations is there, but just seems cobbled together in a hurry with little care for the dialog/story/plot, same with the music, same with the universe.

5/10 - as a standalone game, it is ok, nothing great and nothing terrible
3/10 - as a sequel, just lacking in all areas....

The good:
The gameplay itself is great, good hack n slash n blatt heretics, good fun
Look and feel is superb, levels are beautifully created, the grimy levels, the upper echelons and mobs, all genuinely well made and is absolutely good eye candy! 10/10
Sound engineering in this game is also top notch!
Session reconnect (I seem to crash a lot) is very good, always been able to reconnect to the game session after crashing.

The bad:
Game is currently unstable (crashing to desktop on level load) but it is getting better but still shocking amount of crashes for a "full release"
Lore, what lore? They had Dan Abnett working with them (one of the biggest names in W40k literature) and there is no coherency. Also truth be said, Chaos infiltration of a hive city at this level would warrant a full exterminatus if you wanted this to be lore accurate, I feel that this should have been more a GSC based plot than Nurgle spreading his love.
Some of the character voice lines just done quite add up but thats more a personal feeling (skulls for the golden throne, what??)
Weekly tasks/quests are bugged still! So progression doesn't always apply it seems after a game, so when you have to complete 25 games and it seems to miss a game completion here n there is very frustrating.
Rerolling weekly tasksseems to only work once or twice, so I am going to assume it's broken!
When rerolling a weekly task, there's a chance you'd get the same tasks again (got complete 25 missions twice in a row)
Weekly tasks rewards/crafting materials need to be account wide and not character based. This is TOO much of a grind, so either make the weeklies (work for starters) and easier to complete or make them account wide
Mission selection is frankly trash, give the players the option to choose any mission, add additional modifiers (grimoires, scriptures etc)
Crafting material drop rates are rubbish
Crafting itself still hasn't been fully implemented and given there was an article from Fatshark saying them redid it halfway through game dev, I don't hold much hope it's going to be THAT good in the end
The "shop" is an RNG mess
Enemy spawning is very meh/glitchy at times, they suddenly spawn in front of you, behind you, in you. Just not quite right at the moment.
Some of the aesthetics/sounds etc lean too much from Vermintide
Character "humour" feels way too forced and unimaginative
Having to go to the intermediary area (the Morningstar) just seem unnecessary, why spend ages (more so for people with older machines) to load into this area, then having to run to the mission select area to then load again to the level shortly after. This is a player detriment and a time waste, I understand it's meant to give some form of immersion but the execution was missed completely.
To add, I feel this game design outside of the missions themselves is a disrespect to the users and their time. (I assume they think people have time to complete 25 missions on multiple characters etc)
The initial loading into the game, launch from steam, loads up the game's own launcher, click launch, faff about with various fluff at the start, press esc to skip the same intro movie again and then press space to then finally get into character select.... Again just not really appropriate

The OK
Nothing, the elements of the game are either good or bad

I will update this as and when sufficient changes are made (good or bad)

This game is just so chill, even when you're about to lose, you're like "Maybe next time it will better" and boom it's 2am

Early Access Review
It's a great casual game that you can go down different routes to level and power up your ship, so plenty of diversity. But because of this, each type of build/theme requires certain amounts of skill to pilot (literally) throughout the game

So flanking an alien, 85% chance to hit - reloaded multiple times and each time missed.... Something tells me that some of these odds are rigged.... Uninstalled for the pure janky "chance" to hit, the cringe and outright just plain bad story. No commons sense involved with this "resistance". None of these people wear helmets. Can't get armour until it's been researched even though I've killed and "salvaged" plenty of aliens that have had armour etc....

I legitimately do not know what game the positive reviewers played - this is something made by someone as 3rd year project at uni.... the UI is clumsy and eyesore, the textures are horrid, it is clunky.

Sure if it someone or a small group learning game dev, it is a step in the right direction but this should not be on steam.
