No, its completly new, in fact its such a different game there is NO comparision, except it has aliens in it. Not even sure the name 'Prey' suits it lol.....but it is a great game. Very much a survival game on a space station. Im looking forward to the plot twist I know is coming, I have my theory's.

Is the lastest Prey a remake of the one released back in 2006? Had some good concepts but too short.

LOL - yea I saw you on it more recently. I am pretty powerfull at moment, so using all sorts of combo, but 2H is very cool, need heavy armour to go with it I think. One combo I use is something like a fire sword and in the other hand a 'steal health' sword. If I do get damaged too much I quick key to as you say 1H and heal combo. I tend to find different creatures best on different tactics...though I am pretty much one hitting people at moment which kicks the slow motion death in, so I am very dramtic at fighting lol...oh and am loving the 'disarm' shout...the bosses tend to try fisting you to death....hardly hurts...its funny!

Watcing you play Skyrim has got me back into it again... Very tempted to try to get a 2H warrior working as never had a successful one - love the 1H shield / 1H heal combo though...

Cheers for explanation, only problem is I am crap at stealth, so I expect I will die alot. From what I remember of playing before, I did about 3 mission and I messed every one up. Thats why I found the "stand by corner and wait for dumb AI to walk by head shooting them all" method better, but less satisfying and emersion breaking.

I shall reload if I mess up and try to complete each mission properly.....oh god, its a port....I hope I can save when 'I' want and not dictated by 'check points' were I have to re-play half an hour of gameplay each time I make a single mistake.

Anyway, will def give it another go soon :)

The XP thing - yeah you get some xp going one way and some the other, dont worry about collecting both routes, XP is not that hard to come by - each level has atleast 2 or 3 different ways through, some have more - They are set up so that you can play the game to your strengths i.e. if you like sneaking and non-lethal takedowns there will be a dark route with vents and dark corners. If you like gun-ho mode there will be a route with lots of cover. If you can hack of destroy walls there will be subtle routes (yes... punching through a wall is classed as subtle). Play to your strengths and spec accordingly - no good specking into the typhoon weapon pack unless you like like sprinting into the middle of a room whilst blasting people (rarely do you come across a stealth situation that requires you to blow up...).
In short, I really enjoyed the story and would suggest you play through as you like but dont get too hung up about xp. Thats not to say you shouldn't explore ;)

lol, No people only get up if someone finds the body. To be honest, I prefer steath using a combo of lethal and non-lethal weapons such as the scoped tranq rifle for range combined with the silenced pistol for up close. Pistol is great because of the armor piercing mod - (big armored guys later can be one-shot killed with a sneak headshot). Tranq rifle when upgraded is bulky but a great way to get an extreme range takedown. If you want to play stealthy you need to watch patrol routes. Lots of patience required for stealth, but on higher difficulty mods its the only way to play as you get mauled in a stand up fight.

You...you....can move bodies!!.....ummm......is there any benefits to killing them all or knocking them out. What if they get up again and freak out. Bullet in head should solve that :)

Still dont get the XP thingy though. If I just went in one way (my preferred chosen way IE rooftop) and say freed the hostages, is that enough, with obviously some exploration. OR do I have to go back to start of level and break in (again) and this time take sewers (for instance), that way I get more XP. Is that the way to play it.....seems very emersion breaking, or do you get enough XP to upgrade and have fun doing only one route.

To me, you should get XP once completing the objective with XP added on for finding things in an office etc not for each and very single route into the complex.

Anyway, shall be given it another go sometime soon

Lol you dingus, you are supposed to be sneaky and taken them out quietly and hide the bodies. If you really want to kill them then knock them out, drag them and hide them, then use a silenced pistol to execute them... Quite satisfying but also a little on the creepy side... even for me.

Although... I have seen you attempt stealth before - its not a pretty site... ;)

Yea was bored in work, so went through my list

I gave Deux Ex ago and plan to go back to it, but ti didnt seem to draw me in. It has loads and loads of flaws that make no sense! For instance you decide to infiltrate a level through a vent which give you points. However, to be able to upgrade properly you have to back to the start and then go in through the roof for those points, then again to use a secret passage etc etc Ruins the flow of the story. However, what I dont get is if you sneak up behind somebody and kill them behind another person by killing him with a very deadly and sharp weapon everybody knows you are there! If you decide to knock them out by pulling his hair, thumping his head, twisting his arm all generally dirty fighting making loads of noise, nobody hears it, not even the guy in front of you looking else were! Also AI is standard 'rush you' bots, so I just stand by a corner and pop them all one by one.....then the whole level is empty :(

I've added Routine to my watch list, looks interesting. You've gone on some kind of recommendation spree! Have you played Deux Ex HR?
Baz_uk 12 Jul, 2013 @ 4:05am
Oh...and yea Routine looks sweet! It looks heavily influenced by System Shock 2 (which is an art form) and Doom 3....which was ok, but combined is pretty sweet. Its nice to see 'lean' in again, this is because its PC only, so actually might have some good game mechanics (return at least). You are not supposed to do much combat. technology is based on 80's so get ready to start using Floppy disks again LOL
Baz_uk 12 Jul, 2013 @ 4:02am
Well me been playing Farcry3.....which im very slowly getting into. Just get fed up re-playing half an hour of game play each time I load it up due to stupid save check points.

Anyway, just purchased Tomb Raider in summer sale. Maybe that will fix my need for an island survival fix lol

Better oil up my keyboard ready for some serious button mashing, because thats always fun in a PC game!! *sigh*
Mikey 1 Jul, 2013 @ 10:54am
Hey, that Routine game you follow on Greenlight looks sweet. From the preview it looks like they done Sci-Fi horror right! :)
Mikey 6 Jun, 2013 @ 9:44am
The new Tomb Raider Supprised me, I think its ok, a little too guided but I'm liking the story and environments so far (Only 3hours in). Button mashing parts are aweful, you know the kind where you press X repeatedly until you break free. I guess we're a little too used to open games like Fallout and Skyrim, but there's enough content in Tomb Raider to keep my interest :)
