The "Boss" Battle element, sucks. The battle grid to command your star is nice... customization is limited, but that is what I was expecting seeing as you play as a clanner that needs to stick with your omni pod load out. The cinematics are nice looking, buuuut the voice acting is pretty... well... bad. If, you're not a Battletech simp, like I am then this might be a wait for you. Additional content would be required. soon. I feel like they spent more time on the cinematics than the missions.

After playing more, I would have to change this to a negative. Everything I said before still stands, but the facials in the cinematics are horrible, the amount of requirements to even just play on medium are insane and it doesn't even look that good. missions are extremely linear. the physics are not good, mechs and tanks go flying, while trees just crumble. This should be a $20 game/ DLC for MW5.

There was a big missed opportunity to have "free play" and bid for attacking planets/ use some random generation for missions. there needs to be some sort of "RPG" or after campaign element that isn't just... Do the mission over again, but this time do it differently.

Pros:
Battletech game
Clans, finally.
Smoke Jag War Crimes.
Cinematics are pretty

Cons... Lots of them:
Go here, shoot this waves of enemies gameplay
worse of an atrocity of voice acting than the war crimes Smoke Jag does.
Facial animations are bad, sooo much talking with teeth
UI sucks, Mech Lab is abysmal
Story arc is not that great.
Characters are unlikable. (I signed up for Smoke Jag war crimes) Ruling with an iron fist is what we do. Feelings are for Clan Wolf players.
Coop and what to do after the campaign is well... a joke
Optimization is trash
$50?! for a 10 hour campaign? (If you take longer and on expert, sorry... you are trash) 5 hour campaign if you skip the cutscenes

Decent enough Defense/ city builder game. gets a bit boring a repetitive. would give a 7/10

This game is amazing. Well worth the price. Smooth game play, great sound track, diverse weapons. Story is lackluster, but whatever. Awesome visuals if you are into pixel graphics.

I will most likely change this to a positive in the future. And I wish I could leave a neutral comment instead of either positive or negative.
Right now though I just can't recommend this game. The city building feels stale and the combat is rough at best. The resource management is strange at times. The AI for workers is lacking and I feel like I am more micro managing them than anything. Trading between regions is horrible... If I have a capital area that needs resources from other regions I take, why can't I hyper focus those regions to help my capital? Instead you need to trade with your own area. Why can't you just get resources sent to an area for free? There aren't enough random events to keep the downtime between fighting interesting enough.
Like I said, this is probably all going to get changed and hopefully it does, because the concept is great and the execution seems fine... just rudimentary currently.
It has a bangin' sound track though.

Edit#4: Back to being a crap game. Who "balances" stuff in a PVE game?

Edit#5: Back to being good. Devs listened to nerfing guns and added new fire modes. Great game again, too bad no one is playing it anymore due to continually losing their player base.

I wish I did crack instead. This game is more addictive.

Games goes on sale. Play for a few hours. Come back next day looking forward to playing some more... Ubisoft connect is down all day. 2/8 Not gr8 m8. would rather get fisted than spend $12 again on a game I can play then can't the next day. Good job Ubisoft. I guess playing single player offline is just too much to ask these days.

Edit. Servers back up now. Gam gud now. (only on hardcore mode)

As soon as Fatshark gets their head out of their ass and stops nerfing things, and actually buffs the stuff that needs it... this will stay at a negative review. Fatshark, get your ♥♥♥♥ together. You finally made a good 40k game, and you're alienating the player base.

Great game to find out which of your friends are actually racist and shoots the unarmed black people. 10/10
