Now, I realise you haven't had a huge amount of time to work on improving the forums recently, we can understand that, however many of us on the team feel that we need to have some major improvements added to the site.
Firstly, the site's look. I and a few others have come up with a few ideas and concepts of how we can make the main site and also the forum look both better, and also more Portal /Portal 2 themed. As far as my understanding of how the Forum php and HTML works, this shouldn't really be that hard of a thing to change, and as you'll probably know, presentation is what draws people in. You've probably seen many maps come in on the main site that look bad, which means that people will barely play them as it doesn't look the part, and this will happen no matter how good the puzzle is. Next, contests. These aren't hard to set up, and with the increased traffic I'm sure that they could be fuelled by all the new members money-wise. As for submissions, there should be a whole lot more because of this increase, rather than just the circle of moderators and older users. It will also boost interest in the site, and stop it from declining in popularity like it will within a few months like last time.
Now, I know this may be a lot to ask for, but I and other long time members of the team and site believe that
Regards
The mAL team.
