Just the best naval game regarding designing, building and deploying via fleet actions ships covering the 1890-1970 time period. I look forward to seeing where they take this from here on out.

I love complex games that model industry and logistics to support your grander plans and this game does that in spades. However, as much as I hate to give a thumbs down to a game like this which these days is getting rarer and rarer, the hot mess that is unit organization and the UI in general leaves me no choice. Even using battle groups it is impossible to keep track of the hundreds of units even a smaller nation can produce. The AI wants to move everything piecemeal so the map becomes a cluttered mess with nothing but a sea of nations flags swirling about like so much confetti during a wartime. On top of that diplomacy leaves a lot to be desired. 11 hours is just scratching the surface of this game and maybe if I tried to stick with it longer something would just click but after fighting the interface and unit gumbo that is unit control I need to find something less frustrating to do, paying taxes maybe?

Anyone that ever played Destruction Derby 2 on the PS2...REJOICE!! It's like that but 100 times better and combined with Burnout Paradise makes this a great and fun game. If you ain't rubbin' you ain't racin'! While I enjoy the feel of the cars if you are looking something with more fidelity than I suggest picking up a game more focused on taking proper lines and setups. While this game has some tinkering options and you can run a track tactically...running a guy from behind and launching him into an unmovable object works just as fine in what can be loosely termed a passing movement lol. One caveat is that I have not playing this in MP as I get plenty of enjoyment out of it versus the AI of which there are several modes to pick from. I find just turning on the damage modeling to 'realistic' (take that with a grain of salt) does kick up the challenge considerably. You'll need to be more selective in what to run into and when and who as the vehicles at that point definitely model their robustness better. All in all a great and fun way to pass time, not to mention safer than attempting any of this on a local roadway near you.

Your mileage may vary but for whatever reason this won't play longer than an hour or so before just hanging or crashing to windows. Shame since I enjoyed previous products from CA but the quality control for this company just keeps slipping. Tried it stock, with mods, community patch etc. Time to find an alternative to this I guess.

Looks simple at first glance with the retro looking graphics but dig into the mechanics and game play and next thing you know, you've lost track of time and it's 2am. I remember this feeling when playing games like Civ, Xcom, HL, FA, MoO and Doom. It was that you always want to try something else just real quick which then leads to something else and then something else. Bottom line is that addicting game play overcomes mediocre graphics every time...and look at the workshop, you'll be surprised at what kind of nice looking ships can be churned out by those with talent. *note I am not saying this game is on the level of this classics as that only comes with time but it does have that one more turn/another 5 min vibe for me, oh and the game isn't 60 bucks helps.

It's come a long way but then that's every X game for you. It is solid at this point though and should just get better as they continue to refine it further.

Good solid city builder as it has all the bones needed to become great as things are added and it is fleshed out more. The Dev's seem to be engaged if a bit slow to fix things but the things that need to be fixed are not big issues. Assuming it continues to get support this is the true son to the SC franchise, may it RIP.

Great game...get the expansions if you want the complete experience of playing just about anywhere in the world. I personally enjoy playing as a one or two province minor and seeing how far I can take them. It forces you to pay attention to politics more versus a larger power which can absorb more mistakes. Not for the weak of hurt though as there a lots of mechanics in this game you need to learn to be effective. This game along with CK2, V2 and HoI3 is why Paradox is the master of this genre as of now. I look forward to seeing their version of Simcity being published this year as well. Looks promising.
