i like it (rewview is only for steam summersale 2019 so move along :P )

....the "its like dark souls" thing is getting old....but here.....its more or less the sellingpoint. its more complex, skillsystem etc....i like it.

First of all, at the moment I have been writing this review you should know the following:

-I know that the developer has hardly any staff and therefore it's not a triple a studio....i think they have so few staff members that you could call it a triple b....(if I remember it right less then 30 people developed that game)
-I know gothic, gothic 2 and 3. the first two I have played for hours the third one...was buggy....extremely buggy.
-elex has been on my "must" have list since they announced it. simple because the setting sounded awesome futuristic-planet and I can use swords or laser rifles, sold!

my first thoughts

graphics: they are well done. not like a triple a game but I have them at max on a 4k screen and it looks good. it lakes details and if you are looking for 4k HD ultrarealistic stuff, wrong game. I would say.....me.......a high 7 or mid 8 /10.

sound: I am playing the English version and so far I like it. its way to early to say anything about how it feels later but in the past, they did a good job and so I have my hopes up.

its been some years....but I think in the german version the main character has the same voice actor again like in the old gothic games. loving it....also I think I found other "old" voice actors.

the one kinda big downside is there.....it seems that the lips.....move strangely....I don't know if that only happens in the english version though.

gameplay: tricky. it feels like putting dark souls and fallout into a blender. not perfect but not horrible either.a....in the early areas you get your a*** handed to you. simple you are way underpowered and its like ....ok maybe a bad example but think about "world of warcraft". you creat a character can you simple cant explore everything from the start....or better said you could but you will die, a lot. same thing here.

world: if its true that it is 1.5 bigger then gothic 3 we have a lot of things to find and I cant wait....and again.. a futuristic world with middle age stuff ....nice. What is also strange is, that it looks like that a lot of the women in the game, seem to have fallen into a cloning lab.

combat: like dark souls you have stamina, if it were gone you are in trouble....don't know if stamina is mandatory for rifles aswell.

I know I know I haven't played much but the old gothic feeling is back and I am so happy....since gothic 3 had many bugs and risen....well you know.....gothic is ♥♥♥**** back yeah.

TLDR: its a more or less expansive game from a small developer studio. don't expect triple a quality like a witcher 3 but if you liked gothic you should feel right at home.

so, finished building a character. now time to play the game.
