Don't buy this game. It is no longer fun, sorry.

It was great, (125+ hours great), but I stopped playing when some new games came out. I recently returned to find it had changed, or, the players had changed. Instead of an immersive medieval warfare game oozing with character, I now saw all the game mechanics exposed. Instead of seeing an enemy swing an axe towards you, I now saw another player moving their mouse and hitting the right keys to ensure that the tip of a collider just taps a hitbox - visually represented by a character moving in a way that someone in heavy armour carrying a large slab of metal would never move. Chances are they were even facing the opposite direction when they hit you.

This game has some great maps and I long for a sequel using the newer Unreal engine, but I would be cautious of buying it without some guarantee that the mechanics have been improved. The problem is the people still playing must enjoy the game how it is, and TB would probably get complaints that they can no longer do the silly moves.

If you enjoy meta then maybe get it, but it's going to be a hard time starting from scratch and competing against the people who are good enough that they still haven't quit.
