returning 5 years later after Iast played: Kaathe was right. Let the first flame die out and usher in the dark. We are the true progenitors. A lie from the first game.....

Frustrating if played with mouse and keyboard as directional accuracy is lacking. With that bad out of the way... it is a really satisfying puzzle game. You WILL DIE A LOT. But thankfully, the gameplay is intuitive and the level design is simple enough to adapt and learn on the go. Furthermore, completing an album is really cathartic as you'll really celebrate surviving hordes upon hordes of humans trying to kill you with various means, flamethrower, rpg, shotgun, bombs....

Really recommend. Upon completion of a stage, your gameplay will look like a low budget Jackson Pollack painting.

This game is more polished and fun than Borderlands 3. Better music, better "graphics", and
the puzzle grinding is worth the time. No regrets. Further more, this game doesn't hold your hands like in Borderlands 3 like some short bus rider; in fact, you're encouraged to hold your own hands. Balls to the walls, no holds bars puzzle action.

Wholesome fun for the whole family! Best $0.99 spent.

West of Loathing has all the goodness of point and click from "Quest for Glory", of good storytelling from "fallout: new vegas", and of well timed graceful slapstick humour from "Days of the Tentacles". The game never takes itself serious and encourages you to explore the world without much hand holding. Lot of fourth wall humour in this game. Overall, it was money well spent and it helped me pass time during the Coronavirus quarantine.

Fallout 1/2 meets Shadowrun minus the Bethesda's greed but adding the passion and quality of Obsedian Games.
Game can be grindy at times, with maps/story spreading out over separate load times so it's best to play in chunks at time. The old school feel of manual inventory optimization and player choice consequence isn't a gimmick; the resulting choice really affect questline(s) and traveling choices. Also, plenty of star trek/star wars easter eggs in game which is a brownie point for me.

The game still holds up very well from the last time I played it in 1997 in floppy disk format; from the art, exploration, comedy, and sheer happiness of playing a gem. The steam port even has option to switch to old school graphic format! =) Major brownie points.

Best 3 hours of reliving my childhood.

Dear Butcher....

F+++ Y++. Good fun game overall but the flying npc with the automatic gun is a b++++ on stage Club Fort (Impossible mode). Intensely addictive and punishing for an achievement hunter like myself. Thank you for 40+ hours of asskicking and more rage moments than playing Dark Souls. Go f+++ yourself for making impossible mode part of 100% achievement completion.

Sincerely,
Happy Gamer

This game is therapeutic for a daily subway commuter like myself. I ride the BART tram to work in San Francisco everyday and rush hour is a pain. A lot of inefficiencies due to: aging trams, bottleneck stations, insufficient number of trams during heightened traffic, etc etc.. Mini metro game lets me plan out my ideal line and optimize efficiency.

There are many cities to play (San Francisco being one of them), with urban layout unique to that city. Further, Mini Metro spices up gameplay by occasionally switching station icons so players will have to pay attention to changing riders demand. Mini metro has a minimalistic soundtrack that is calm and soothing for a urban planning game so nothing to write home about.

Deceptively pretty and fun but it drives you psycho in the long run with mind games. Kinda like a hot busty blonde with daddy issues.

Pro tip: If you're going for 100% achievement be prepare to micromanage locomotives and use route shortcuts. The random station generator can be UN-forgiving.

Overall, really great puzzle game that is well worth the price.

I admit, when my friend gave me a bootlegged copy of Max Payne in high school many many years ago I got hooked into the Max Payne story and the franchaise itself too. The intricate level design, the bullet time mechanic, and the compelling storytelling with the SKIPPABLE comic-book style cutscenes were a really revolutionary gaming experience then and still holds well today; The spiral descent in the towering parking lot level was nicely designed and juxteposed with Max's unending path for vengence, the bullet-time slow-mo blending well with Max's fluid movement(s), and storytelling is reminisce of the Punisher.

Although Max Payne 2 followed the formula of the original, I wish I could give a glowing review of Max Payne 3. You can see the mixed reviews for the third installment. Overall, well worth the MSRP or steam-sale price and you won't regret playing this trend-setting game.

I haven't complete the game yet at the moment of this review but I must really must commend the the simple yet increasingly complex logic game. The game is like a minimalistic stylized Circuit Board drawing resembling a "if so - therefore" reaction when the player chooses an input. Game is forgiving and is based on continued learning; Hook does not punish the player by going back to the first level if the logic fails. Overall I wholeheartly recommend this game. At the moment I have about 20 mins and I am on level 32. =)
