I haven't played a puzzle adventure game of this quality in years.

The first thing that grabbed me was the vintage art style and piano/orchestra music that played throughout the game, in addition to the silent movie style cutscenes. Cutscenes weren't a bore to be skipped through or used for a trip to the kitchen, i found myself laughing at the antics of the dolls even when i wasn't controlling them (and making them do hilarious things).

The puzzles in this game have multiple solutions, and while one is all that is needed to advance the story, the other 2-6 alternatives all offer more of that great cutscene action as well as introducing new uses for some of the same characters who make repeat appearances throughout the game. The Hi-Jinks bonus objectives encourage you to fully utilize all the extras in interesting and fun ways.

Being as i'm a lazy type and enjoy a video game from my bed as much as the next grown man with a full time job, I will add that this game is VERY gamepad friendly. Not counting the optional menu navigation, it uses a total of four buttons plus sticks, making it super easy to play in the dark, from far away, and on a medium sized computer monitor.

The ONLY downside I can come up with for this game is that it is short. I have completed the main storyline quests and Hobo Kingdom extra area in only 20 hours with 100% completion on both. I suppose it isn't a bad thing for a game to keep it concise with quality over quantity, but if the developers are still monitoring this, I'd love to see some DLC expansions to further explore the world of Charlie and his amazing Stacking world.
