Endless amount of content. Not every mod is great, but for almost every game you can find one that works well enough. Popular games usually have mods with great scripts that will do all the manual work for you. Often you can even find one that is beyond what anyone would expect from a user made mod (for example the MJ and iakona mod for Spirit Island). Since not everything is scripted and you still move around game pieces and shuffle cards it feels just enough like playing a board game while still taking away a lot of manual setup.
