I'm gonna give it a thumbs up. It's not great, but it's not terrible.

It's not really a game, it's just a walking simulator at best. It is a little more open than say "Dear Ester", but it's also fairly closed off with invisible walls at every turn and poor excuses for "level barriers" such as walls or hills you could easily climb in real life or bushes that you could normally walk through but is just there to signify how linear the game really is.

But where you can give the game credit is its ability to immerse the player in a different, minimalistic way. All of the plot is basically communicated through conversations with the girl in the other tower and it provides for a unique experience.

The gameplay is non-existent, the story is ok, but the environments and narrative is really immersive and I think that deserves merit.

It's also not really worth the asking price of $20 .. this feels like a $10 game at most with my entire playthrough lasting a mere 3.8 hours.

Add it to your wishlist, pick it up on sale in a few months time and play it when you're bored/curious and looking for something different. That will be the best way to experience this game.

Playthrough 1: I played a female who married another female. I built robots for love, not war. Ended up in a lesbian Threesome with my wife and robot girl friend.

Playthrough 2: I built robots for war. The military rejected them because I made them too sentient. I led them in a robot uprising and successfully conquered mankind.

This game has .. REAL choices.

This game is fantastic!

Its a puzzle game that requires you to think outside the box in every respect. From the trailers, it may look like the only thing shown is a simple maze puzzle, and you might think "how complex could that possibly get?". The answer is: Very!

Pay attention to EVERYTHING, because it all might be relevent to the puzzle/puzzles you're working on. It could be the way the grass grows in a certain area, the way shadows hit a certain object, the angle you're looking at something.. no holds are barred when it comes to how creative some of the solutions to these puzzles are.

Some people may be dissapointed that this game is not quite the "adventure game" they were expecting, and they're right, its not an adventure game its a pure puzzle game.

It's not Myst, its The Talos Principle.

I'm 12 hours in and I've had so many satisfying moments that I can only give a full recommendation.

Its FTL with Dice!

Survival Management Roguelike in Space.

Short but very addictive, its more or less impossible to beat without some luck, expect many quick restarts.
The dice manipulation is intuitive and fun, making it much easier to understand your chances of success (or how unlucky you were to fail).

All in all very fun.

What can I say.. I must be one of the lucky ones.

I haven't encountered anything that I can be upset about bug-wise, there was one instance where Dogmeat got stuck in an elevator door and was crying as he got squished and dragged outside the level as the elevator went down. I found that pretty charming. "Oh Dogmeat, you silly billy" .. I said.

Other than that, framerate is great. Graphics are .. decent, I feel like they could have done better with face model's and textures but I'm pretty sure at this point no matter how much work they put it into it it's going to be invalidated by some pro-level modder come January. I love the crafting and the detailed cities provide for some cool exploration and sniper vantage points in combat.

I love the Bioware dialogue system so the copying of it is a welcome addition in my opinion, it's not super perfect but it mostly does what it's supposed to.

At the end of the day I played it for 11 hours straight ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ around and doing ♥♥♥♥, pretty sure that's whats supposed to happen with a Fallout game.

I'm sorry, but this game is all luck. If you like that sort of thing, sure, have fun. But there is more luck in this game than there is in a game of poker. I've one shotted my opponent out of nowhere in the first 3 turns, and ive sat and grinded out failing to cast 80-90% chance spells while my opponent played Law spell after Law spell when chaos was at +50%.

I'm not going to lie, I might try this again at some point and if I find out better how to find the "strategy" in this game, I may change my review. But as it stands, this is my current first impression of it.

Written as of finishing Episode 4:

This game is everything a TellTale game wishes it could be. DontNod have taken the formula, added a twist and knocked it out of the park. The aesthetic is brilliant, the characters are loveable and the drama.. omg the DRAMA!

I have no advice other than to play this game and get ready to feel emotions.

Enjoy.

Don't let the pictures fool you, it may look like beautiful open world but sandbox game this is not.

The really nice scenery ends just up the hill where the character "blacks out". It's not like they couldn't have made it more open, its just not that kind of a game.

Instead this is a point and click adventure centered around the idea of waking up inside a tent with amneisa next to a non-functional android and being required to piece together your memories and her body by solving puzzles, riddles and mini-games. Whether or not you like this game will depend strongly on whether or not you can appreciate story driven "investigating" and first-person puzzle games, I personally was able to get into both and really enjoyed this game.

The story is really where this game shines, I love cyberpunk, psychological mystery type stuff and this story really covers a lot of ground.

The only downside I find is that the ending feels .. unfinished. Yea, its one of "those" .. where its supposed to have you come up with the answers yourself but instead looks like they ran out of time and had to ship the game without an ending.

However, the journey, the story and the adventuring and the puzzling were all enjoyable for me and I recommend this game to anyone who likes point-and-click adventure games. Just make sure you really know what this game is about before trying it.
