Sick game better than Age of Decadence in almost every facet.
You will want to be able to level all skills and see all there is to offer, the story is well done too with believable motives for each faction.

It's more of the same but somethings are majorly improved. The artwork, sound, music and narrator (never get tired of him) are all fantastic, the runs are a bit too long when you are going in blind.
I wiped on the last boss the first time I came across him because I had no idea what skills MUST be equipped to counter the boss's mechanics. After a 2-3 hour run this isn't the greatest feeling.

Overall it's fantastic and if you like rogue-likes, it's well worth your time.

It's too grindy. When you finally think you are getting somewhere it adds another layer of grind. Constantly backtracking and ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ around in the inventory has worn out my goodwill. Without a guide, you have to guess all the combinations of things to get items you need for upgraded resources. I can't be bothered, the recipes should be unlocked as you unlock the tech tree, or at least let me buy them. Again another disrespectful use of the players time.
The aesthetics of the game and ideas are all there, just too much grind and not enough feeling of actual progression for me.
Stardew valley is still king of the hill.

Slow starting, but once it gets going it grows on you.
If you like collecting random ♥♥♥♥ and open world games you'll love it.
The story is actually not too bad either.

It's a great concept, but unfortunately the developers have no respect for your time.
The speed of the game and time for each mission means you'll be playing one mission for 3 plus hours. If you make a mistake, or in some cases are unaware of what the final scenario will be, you wipe. Requiring another 3 hours of your life to get back to where you were.
I guess I could look into mods to see if someone has managed to speed up the game, ridiculous you can't when you can pause the game at any time! But I'm done.

This is the dark-souls (as much as that is overused) of turn based RPGS.
Do you like combat? I hope so, cause there isn't much else going on. There are some puzzles and many ways to gain a slight edge in combat, but most of the time you are going to be facing overwhelming odds and thinking it's impossible.
Heaps of items, customization, classes, spells and content so far.
Recommended.
I kickstarted it for <$60 so maybe wait for a sale, if you aren't sure.

Like nothing else you've played. When you think you know what's going on it changes and then changes again.
Avoid any spoilers and play.

The souls like genre is a hard one, there are so many elements and intricacy of level design done extremely well that make a Fromsoft game. There hasn't been anyone that has matched them and very few have come even close to a decent facsimile.
This game is made with a much lower budget but if you persist you will realise the obvious love of those style games the developer has.
What it does do it try a hybrid of gunplay with souls style combat, sometimes it's clunky as hell and unfair and you will rage. Sniper rifles with a decent melee weapon are almost essential.
There is some fun level design and enough variety in the locations and enemies that kept me interested enough to finish the game.
Yes it is hard and the teleporting sniper/shotgun arseholes are not fun, but the game does give you enough tools to cope if you persist.
For the price it is well worth a look if you like the soulslike genre of games.

It's somewhat bare bones but the core gameplay is polished, graphics are nice, guns sound chunky and environments varied. The enemies are faithfully 'inspired' by doom and satisfying to blow away.
it's also good having different (more risky) routes for rarer drops and to add some variety for runs.

I don't necessarily agree with the developer that adding some form of permanent progression is a 'grindgate' they wanted to avoid, as roguelikes have unavoidable grind built into them due to learning the game, the RNG or bad luck.
Hopefully more is added to the game in time as it's definitely worth supporting.
