Oh my god. Sparking Zero is "the one" for any DBZ game fan.. Let me give you some context on how good it is and take you back in time- sit down on grandpa's lap and let me tell you....

..I was a kid who went out of their way in the late 90's as a dragonball Z fan to find a brick and mortar Japanese animation store to get my PlayStation 'chipped'.

Getting your play station 'chipped' was the only way to play imported Japanese games on a US PlayStation console.

I had my PlayStation basically jail-broken to be able to play region locked disc games.

Why did I do this? the sole reason I did all of this was to play a game called "Dragonball Z Legends".

"Dragonaball Z legends" was not released or sold into the US market. The best we had at the time was "Dragonball GT: Final Bout" (terrible game). The only DBZ game at this time that was rated by the online community to actually 'feel' like playing as the Z warriors or villains from the show was 'Dragonball Z legends' (2D/3D arena fighter).

Ever since I chipped my playstation and spent years enjoying Dragonball Z legends on playstation, most of the DBZ games that came out were way too mid in my opinion. I was not a fan of the budokai series... I then assumed budokai tenkaichi series was just a cash grab, and I didn't like the 3D look of DBZ fighting games at that time either..(cel shading was still not good enough yet) I needed a game that LOOKS AND PLAYS LIKE THE SHOW.

The next good game that came out since "Legends" was a DBZ game on gameboy advance SP called "Dragonball Z hypersonic warrios" or something like that? It played just like Dragonball legends did, and made you feel like you were fighting just like how the show made things look. Overall ♥♥♥♥♥♥ graphics and animation but, the combat was on point.

Fast forward to literally being an aging adult since the 2000's, and suddenly the world gets this burst of legitimate DragonballZ games to enjoy that are actually amazing..

We got games like:

Dragonball FighterZ - Epic since its the first game that looked almost identical to the show in appearance and animation...But it wasn't REALLY a game about 'feeling' like you were playing as a Z fighter in the show because it was 2D only.. It was more of a very good and unique competitive scene 2D fighter... I still love it though, and it's probably the second best DBZ fan game out so far.

DragonballZ: Kakarot: the "RPG semi-open world" version of living in the dragonball universe with fun, but basic, fighting mechanics and a very well done story mode to live out the chapters of the DBZ saga. The cel shading and 3d Arena fighting is probably the best and closest we have come to an accurate DBZ combat game since the now cherished "BT3", but it's still missing that something... what is it?

Enter, Sparking Zero... aka "DB: Budokai Tenkaichi 4" and you get what you have been waiting decades for- A dragonball Z game that makes you FEEL like you are a Z fighter in all areas necessary.

The 3D arena combat is amazing, the visual cel shading is almost as good as DBFighterZ, the controls are tight, and the content available in this game is just over abundant for any DB fan.

The game structures the battles more according to fan lore than it does to "comp fighting scene players" in the PVP and single player modes and thats EXACTLY what they should have done.

I will edit and update this review as I play it more, but right now this is the best DB game I'ver ever gotten to play in my life. I came.

I would categorize KCD as a "raw" Rpg... reminiscent of the times when games were not there to hold your hand.. didn't tell you about every mechanic or system built in to it, and let you discover how to thrive in it's environment through failure or perception.

The game doesn't restrict your choices and the consequences of not respecting the world you are in will haunt you should you become reckless or ignorant within it.

Role play as your fate wills it and you should be in good hands with what the developers intended with the KCD experience.

Combat is going to be difficult for most players as it is unlike any other game on the market. Very challenging, but rewarding.

Considering this is an indie developed game, I would say this is a 9/10 in all areas as an action rpg.

Can't wait for KCD2, and any RPG enthusiast who wants a more realistic experience should definitely give KCDd a run.

Do not buy.

It was like 4$ a few days ago. The company is greedy and raised prices as a result.

Most importantly it does not run unless you do a bunch of fixing to the games files and even then it is not guranteed.

This game is a scam.

The star wars stuff isn't in the game and you have to pay 20$ just for one skin.

Do not support this business model.

It feels like a dark souls game to me even though it isn't. Very unique game with alot of cool action and mystery and mechanics to discover.

The artificial review bombing campaign failed. The game is damn good. Another win for freedom and democracy.

We all know a certain big franchise woke elite game just released and did very bad as expected.

We all know they worked hard to keep a bad game looking good, and they also worked to make a good game look bad.

We all know that Helldivers was in direct competition to it's place in the "live service co-op genre".

At first glance, it all seemed like valid points- sketchy anti-cheat and no server connections.

In less than 10 hours after launch all those problems were gone and the review bombing still tried to work.. but it didn't. The people who claimed to not want to play due to anti-cheat kept playing the game 20 hours after saying so.

The reviews went from mixed to very positive in a day.

This is just a short summary of the chaos that happened when this game released and now that the dust is settling EVERYONE is realizing that this game is just money well spent and deserves every dollar for the experience you get.

Loving this game. Humorous overglorification of violence, and being rewarded for it. Reminds me of the humor we saw in Broforce. Smooth fun co-op action! It's a man's game. Give it a go.
