Unfortunately, Crytek has made Hunt worse with its engine update. Crashes, bugs, even ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ sound rendering.. sure expected. Major UI changes that are full of monetization dark patterns while making the gameplay loop painful unfortunately is far less forgiveable.

Small bugs aside, this is lives up to expectations of taking a high complexity, roguelike, turn-based strategy board game and making it work as a more manageable online game.

My only warning is if you haven't played Nemesis (especially with the Lockdown expansion) before, the game is really really hard even with seasoned 'allies' (who btw may have a secret goal to stab you, indirectly, in the back). Expect to lose at least 9/10 times (everyone can lose--which happens frequently and, in theory, everyone can also win). And that's ok if you let it be ok.

While I enjoyed DL2 the gameplay and story, the quest system in particular was extremely buggy with a lot of blocks and weird issues.

Way worse, I had to save and restart missions routinely... I mean way more than any one should be expected to continue through nearly all the quests.

I chalked that up to me starting my save early and they must have fixed that in the recent updates. So I started a new save just now and had the same quest bugs right from the first mission.

I honestly would have got my money back if I knew this would still be experience a month after the game came out.

The general concept is really good. The problem is matchmaking is poor which is exacerbated by overpowered item and trait combos which work or don't work based on what amounts to luck. Game isn't balanced and too few games where it feels too close to call or that the momentum even swings at all.

Too easy or too hard. Lots of missing content and low information as to the affect of certain decisions so way too much trial and error.
