This will probably be Game of the Year for me. I was infatuated with the first Helldivers game some years ago and this game somehow retains the same Helldivers feeling despite fundamentally changing the way the game works. The combat is absolutely insane, especially at the highest difficulties; the universe is absurd in an almost Prattchett-esque way, and you can tell that a lot of love has gone into making it.

It is telling that both me and my gaming community have stuck with the game through the bumpy launch, and from here on out it looks as if Helldivers 2 has a bright future ahead of it.

Total War: Warhammer II is probably the best Total War game made until this day, though it has taken some time to get it this far. You need at least the first and the second game at the same time to unlock its true potential, sprinkle with DLCs as you see fit, but it's not necessary.

The first time I started this game I died to some hungry bandits after about ten minutes. 10/10 would die again, and again, and again.

Early Access Review
Perfect blend of a Tactical Military FPS and an action FPS that in actually forces you into teamwork (which may sound harsh but this is what makes the game as good as it is).

The community is amazing and actively helps new players find their bearings by being patient and understanding. The first time I lead a squad I had a handful of more veteran players guide me through the process and gave me hints on how to approach obstacles in a good way.

I have never enjoyed using thumbsticks for anything else than driving games or movement in platformers; the thumbstick layout severely handicaps the camera controls which is particularly noticable when you're using one for aiming.
Since it takes a departure from the regular controllers available the Steam Controller has been an enticing thought for some time for me and I decided to get one earlier this year.

Pros:
-Superior, amazing touchpads
-Paddles on the underside (i.e. two easily reachable buttons that let you move and control the camera while also dodging stuff in Dark Souls for example)
-Steam Big Picture mode lets you configure ALL inputs on the controller to do exactly what you want them to and lets you create super-complex action sets and action layers (you can even play ArmA 3 with it).
-Great support for faulty or broken controllers. Valve seems to replace controllers for even slight malfunctions or breakdowns.
-Uses two regular AA batteries instead of proprietary batteries. I bought two pairs for €6 at IKEA with 2450mAh capacity (for a nice total of 4900mAh). For comparison; my Dual Shock 3 controller has an internal battery with a capacity of 1350mAh, or 27,6% of the batteries I have for the Steam Controller.

Cons:
-I would have preferred rubber dome switches on the bumpers instead of microswitches because rubber dome switches are more pleasant to use.
-Glossy finish on the plastic shell. I like minimalist design and it would be nice with one surface texture for the entire shell. Maybe the same as the touchpads?
-Expensive shipping. I paid another €18 on top of the €30-something price for the controller itself to have it shipped to Sweden.

The Zeus game mode alone makes this my favourite game; add to that a plethora of game modes, a decent SP campaign and a truckload of mods.
The DLC is slightly overpriced, except for the Apex expansion.
