So close yet so far. Many improvements (for a different style of game) but also many parts are worse. I really liked POE1 but it was too hardcore with the skill, gem, and item system and the builds lacked the defined fantasy identity that I like from other (oldschool) aRPG. I was looking forward to a simplified version. While it is still in EA, the decisions made for the game make me feel like the lead developers do not understand what made the POE1 great, or at least do not understand it well enough to make a good new game.
All the challenges of this new game feel like a frustrating difficult, not a rewarding difficulty. I like and appreciate the attempt to move to a combo system, but again it feels frustrating rather than rewarding. It feels like this was never tested?? I have given the beta many attempts but it has become hard to justify spending my time on something that is ultimately just frustrating...

A hollow half finished game without accessible PvP. The other content is largely just cltr c + ctrl v with a ridiculous crafting grind to make up for the lack of actual content.
