No Arms Race mode... RIP. And 4 days later they add it back in. Not saying I'm directly responsible but... you're welcome lol.

I was about 16 when half-life came out. It's one of my favorite games of all time. I was extremely skeptical going into this game, but I have to give a standing ovation to this team. I can't believe what an incredible job they've done here. If you even mildly enjoyed the original half-life, this game is a must play.

Well, after 5 years it's not what I expected. I don't think it's bad. You can do a lot worse for $20. I would say that a lot of the mechanics definitely feel like the result of one guy developing the game in a bubble for 5 years. I can understand why a lot of people don't like it. If I had a time machine I think I would still buy the game in alpha.

Awesome game! First one was really fun, the sequel surpasses it in every way with flying colors. There are some seriously difficult puzzles in this game that were a blast to figure out.

If you like Dark Souls and metroidvania games, it really doesn't get much better than this. Really fantastic game.

TLDR: Really fun game that gets a bad rap due to some overly picky DnD fans.

I see a lot of negative reviews that talk about game mechanics and ruleset discrepancies. I played through the entire game in single player and didn't really notice any of that. So I guess it's just a matter of how picky you might be. This game is fun, and deserves a better rating that the current "mixed" in my opinion.

If you're on the fence, and you're not a super hardcore dnd fan (or you're able to realize it's just a game and you can overlook little details), I'd give it a try, well worth the modest price. The only issue I had with the game was that in some sections there was quite a lot of backtracking where you spend several minutes just running through areas you've already cleared. There really needs to be some kind of "return to entrance or exit" feature once an area has been cleared. The game was still plenty of fun despite that minor annoyance though.

Played this a little bit once. It was okay gameplay wise but I have no desire to sit and grind for a million hours to unlock a new gun or operative. I'll just play something else that doesn't have these restrictions.

Side note, a friend bought me this a while back, and now it appears to be free to play? I don't recall getting any in game incentives, but maybe there were some for having paid for the game and I just didn't see them. If not... yeesh... that's pretty shady.

There are a lot of promising features, but in the end everything just feels disjointed and not at all like a cohesive game. The combat is VERY repetitive and clunky, which is a terrible combination for a game with perma-death. I would say just avoid combat, but almost every single "mission" in the game was go to house X and clear out the zombies, or defend the house for a period of time. The timed defense missions are basically, stand in the house and hold E to board up windows for 10 minutes.

The other problem I have, is that the game has real-time building and character fatigue. This means you could be waiting 30 real world minutes for that workshop to complete, or if all your playable characters become fatigued, your options are: Sit in the base and wait for 30-2hr for their fatigue to go down, or just close the game and play something else. I opted for the latter.

TLDR: A zombie survival simulator with lots of downtime and poorly thought out mechanics.

I've requested a refund for this game.

Short but very very sweet. Haven't played a shoot 'em up this good since Einhänder. I'll be awaiting DLC for this game with much antici..........pation.

I keep coming back to this game long after beating it. It's just really fun to play, expertly designed and has a depth of challenge missing in most modern games.
