The gameplay is good, however, unless I'm missing something, there is literally only ONE level in the game, it's 20 minutes long, all you can do is up the difficulty by making enemies stronger as you beat the level over and over. The last boss isn't even Death, it's Dracula.. So, until I see more levels besides just ONE, I can't recommend this game. Who wants to play the same thing over and over again only harder?

Not to mention, anything players find that is fun or a good "Build" the Dev makes it their mission to nerf it out of the game. LIke.. shouldn't you be more focused on adding more content that balancing every little thing? Let people have their fun in the game and EXPAND the game rather than pissing everyone off.

It's a good, but very short, game. The gameplay of Vampire Survivors with a Diablo 1 atmosphere. It'll scratch an itch for a bit, however, be aware that this game is short. And shouldn't be compared to Vampire Survivors when it comes to stages or characters.

I loved DD1, and played many hours on PS4. DD2 makes me want to play DD1. I'm not a fan of this stagecoach format. I don't think it's fun when the game sets you up to fail in every way possible and expects you to find that enjoyable. The amount of negatives that they stack on you gets ridiculous. When you can't even use one characters skill without it causing another one to get a debuff is crazy. And the amount of times your stress builds up and you have a meltdown vs. resolve is like 9 out of 10 times you'll meltdown. I had ONE resolve.

Maybe it'll get better, but honestly, even the stagecoach format, which is a big part of the game, just isn't fun to me.

UPDATE: After over 4,000 Hours spent playing this game. I still don't recommend it. It takes up far too much time, and the same problems still exist that have always existed except cheating has only gotten worse.

While the concept of the game is great. I can't recommend it to anyone. The amount of hatred, racist, toxic behavior is off the charts. The vast majority of people are so angry and aggressive it's ridiculous.

I play games to have fun, not be frustrated. I'm not the kind of person who can check their morals at the door. I don't find fun in ruining others fun. I enjoy being competitive. I don't enjoy hearing people telling others to kill themselves or saying crazy pedo stuff.

There are modded and community servers and I think that's where I'm going to look to see if there are better servers without so much of these things. But the fact that this is the official server experience is what I'm basing this off.

At about 1.5k hours in play time now, nothings changed. And won't until it's made known that in Rust, and any other online game, there isn't a place for hate and racists.

I have now played an additional 2k hours since my last review. Still do not recommend for anyone who wants avoid hearing a bunch of racist slurs from pre-pubescent edgy kids and man children who need anger management.

The gameplay portion of things is pretty good. It's just the toxicity is off the damn charts.

Update - It's nearly 2025 and cheating is still a huge issue in this game.

I've changed my review from positive to negative. A game claiming to be "Early Access" and selling a DLC at $9.99 is ridiculous. The things they are SELLING are all things that should have been in the BASE GAME. So what? Now you leave things out of your base game and sell them later as a DLC? Ridiculous.

This game is bare bones and a grind fest as it is. IF you play a PVP server, prepare to have ZERO interaction with other people. You WILL be killed on sight 99% of the time and the only thing that might come from the people attacking you is insults and slurs. There is no PUNISHMENT to killing others in this game, there is no incentive to interact with others in a positive way.

In a PvP game like this there should be SOME kind of negative hit to you for murdering innocents. That is why you'd question simply murdering everyone you see. And as such, the innocents should have a reason to want to murder you, a bounty or something.

There's nothing to really trade between people beyond insults. Makes for no interaction.

Let me be clear, while I like the game, if you don't have others to play with, I don't suggest a PvP server. Certainly not a full loot one. People WILL gank you and take your things even in starter areas. It's just the way things are, and i've had to experience it a LOT. I hope to find others to play with. But, just trying to complete the first quests has been nearly impossible.

Pick your server wisely. I've also witnessed a LOT, and I do mean a LOT of toxic and racist behavior already. So just know what you're getting into.

I have been having a hard time getting into gaming again as someone who started out mainly playing Diablo, Warcraft and Ultima Online. I played as years went on but eventually just lost passion. I've actually been watching Asmongold on YouTube recently and watching him play this got me wanting to try it out.

This game has so much bang for it's buck. Should have charged $5. I don't think $10 is unreasonable for the amount of enjoyment I got out of this game where as I've spent $60 on games I've hardly touched.

Great job. Great game that's simplistic yet fun. I hope they continue to update it and add content. Honestly making a big DLC and putting the same price on it wouldn't have anyone up in arms I don't believe!
