Games like this, the strongest element needs to be story and Life Is Strange delivers.

I would say, besides the last chapter, the game/story is very well written and directed (to me, the last chapter felt a bit rushed and not consistent with the rest of game, which is a shame, though I still was very much satisfied with the ending). A coming of age story mixed with some sci-fi/supernatural element and twists. I loved the acting by Hannah Telle (Max), Don McManus (David), and Derek Phillips (Mark). I think everyone else was good, or good enough.

The gameplay was clean and not too much. I feel like sometimes, for games that don't require too much mechanics, the controls can be clunky or be counter-intuitive, which was not the case for this game.

On top of all that, the soundtrack is pretty great as well. I enjoyed it so much that I've downloaded several songs that were in the game and started my own Life Is Strange-inspired playlist.

This is one of the first top down action rpgs I've played.

The art and soundtrack are amazing. I was often distracted by looking at the level and environment designs or the music that was playing.

The gameplay was very fun as well. I like that the game gives you a choice to either play with turns or just do real-time action. I went back and forth depending on which I thought would be better for the area.

For me, the story kind of took a backseat to the art and gameplay. It's not a terrible story but wasn't more interesting than the other elements of the game.

In my opinion, this game is worth playing just to see the art. I cannot think of a game that looks anything like Cuphead, and I mean that in the best way. Everything looks beautiful and smooth with that retro cartoon style art, pure eye candy.

Besides the look of the game, the game play itself was great too. There's a good mix of levels that are just bosses and then run and gun levels as well. I would say most were fun, and maybe a few I just didn't a have a good time with (like some of the levels with the plane). There isn't any difficulty setting, but I feel like it's just challenging enough to be enjoyable. If you don't care about scores or achievements, then you can get through the game with not too much difficulty and then if you do care about that stuff, it is a good challenge to get those A+ ratings and such.

Definitely one of my favorites!

As far as platformers go, this is one of my favorites. The gameplay and mechanics are really smooth, and it was fun trying to figure out little tricks you could do with all the moves to get through levels. You can't set the difficulty but I think there's just the right of amount of challenge, and for those looking for something extreme in difficulty, the game offers that as well, in case it does turn out to be not hard enough.

Even though the game is in that classic bit-style, it still looks very artistically dynamic and interesting. Combined with the amazing sound and music, it makes for a really beautiful ensemble. I feel as though the soundtrack is worth the experience alone.

Lastly, before I played the game, I heard that game deals with mental and emotional health and I didn't get until obviously when I actually played. It isn't obvious at first, but at some point in the game, there will be a very serious conversation about depression, anxiety, fear and it's something I think a lot of people can relate to. So I suggest that you pay attention to the dialogue and try not to skip it.
