If you are into base building, engineering and faffing around, then this game is for you. Modded Minecraft, Satisfactory and Factorio players will likely enjoy Space Engineers.

A good mix of many of my favorite games combined into one. It looks and feels DIablo'esque, but plays differently and there is actually a bit of skill involved as well.

I have to start off by saying: Don't let yourself be fooled by the somewhat simple isometric graphics and the 2013 release date. I was when I first came across this game, thinking it was old and outdated. But I was wrong. The game is still recieving updates and the most recent one (Build 41) really took everything to the next level.

Project Zomboid is an extremely deep zombie apocalypse survival, crafting, looting, farming, driving, fighting game.

I have recently crossed 100 hours in game and me and my girlfriend are currently about to fortify a fire station as our new home.

We moved from another house across the town Louisville. An approximately two hour drive away all within the city. In other words, the game world is huge! And very well created with lots of small scenes telling their own little stories about how some poor souls lost the fight to the zombies.

With the game being on sale, now is the time to get it if you haven't got it already.

If you like games like these, then I bet this is a game for you as there are elements of them all in Project Zomboid:

  • 7 Days to die
  • Ark Survival Evolved
  • Minecraft
  • The Forest

Great way to get into flying and the community add-ons keep coming and makes the game feel very alive.

In my experience this game is so much more than the base game. It is a window into the flight sim community. MSFS seems to be very easy on beginners wanting to learn to fly and you can leave it at "just that".

Or you can do what I did. I quickly found myself wanting more of a challenge and ended up installing the FlyByWire Airbus 320 (a great free add-on).

Not long after that I started planning my flights before even starting up the sim and soon after bought a Navigraph subscription (paid charts software) which integrates with MSFS and updates the data in game to reflect the real world navigational aids and charts.

I am currently training to the point where I am comfortable to go on my first VATSIM flight. VATSIM is a network of flight simmers that use voice chat to simulate real ATC and adhere to rules inspired by those found in real world flight.

I feel like I've learned something new on every flight so far. Yet there is still a lot to learn!

The only downside I can think of is that communications with the built in ATC seems buggy. It might have something to do with the addons, but so far it has managed to direct me into a mountain side and frequently (3-4 times on some approaches) hands me over between the various controllers such as Center and Approach.

TLDR
If you are a little interested in flying but haven't gotten into it yet, buy it!

Wow, just finished my third game in my relatively short Squad carreer. And what a game that was! I am still getting to know everything there is to know about the game, but my squadmates were super friendly and helpful. The squad needed a medic, which I've not played before, but as they said: "You've gotta learn it sometime."

Now, 1.5 hours later, I feel like I learned a ton, while still not even mastering a fraction of the game. But I know enough to keep up and communicate semi-well with my squadmates. And to play as a medic again.

The feeling of the responsibility on your shoulders, trying to fill your role, is at the same time intimidating and fantastic. You really feel like your squad depend on you. I never felt that playing Battlefield, ARMA or similar.

Advice for beginnners. You are going to get killed a lot, but stick to it. It pays off relatively quickly. And if you are like me and want to learn how to play, let your squad know about it. That was very well recieved and they helped with a few tips during the game.

And watch videos about Squad of course, to see how the skilled players play and learn the terms and comms use.
