My limbic system is telling me that my tie is too tight and that I need to say this is one of the best games ever made before it cinches off my circulatory system. I'm sorry, but this game is a super rockstar.

I saw the aesthetic and was immediately reminded of Space Rangers and Space, Pirates and Zombies and came for that... But I stayed for the Star Trek... no game has come closer to envisioning the beauty and bounty of galactic exploration than Starcom; the little vignettes of planetary away missions really captivated the Star Trek sensibilities. Great ship design; great races; great combat; great universe; glorious story, narrative and exploration. Thank you Kevin Lin & one and all at Wx3 Labs.

Consider good game design ;P
This was a marvellous experience; for such a small team and what they managed to accomplish in this Souls-like title, truly remarkable. I mostly play Souls-likes in co-op and this was a brilliant experience in that regard. One person dying in co-op does trigger party death, but I think that works well in this title, truly raises the stakes. Great level design, engaging writing, superb voiceover. I'd love to have a sequel. Thank you Over The Moon and Coatsink :)

Are you worth your salt? ...

A compelling, linear narrative journey; there's no dialogue; the narrative is expertly expressed through gesture, environment and discovery alone. It's an experience perfectly suited to its short playtime. The music is majestic and stirring. A memorable narrative that will not be forgotten.

Bounding Box Software climbed the Mountain of the Double Johns and bent low prostrating themselves before the gods on high and cried out: 'Is this worthy?!' as they held their Prodeus before their all-fathers.

Then there came the resonant bellow from the Romero: 'Aye!'
Then there came the resonant bellow from the Carmack: 'It is worthy!'
Then there came the resonant bellow from them both: 'You have pleased us!'

And thus was Prodeus born into this realm with great blessing and gore... for the Double Johns were most pleased.

Jams on those Rock Band nostalgia beats; what a pleasure to have such a rhythm game on PC and it's integration with controller as a representation of guitar, exceptionally well done - loved the music; the Japanese DLC was a highlight as well... except the bonus song, that's from some Yokai demon! Enjoyed playing through the story, but I wish there were more narrative substance there - I'd love to see this fleshed out in a sequel! LOUD 2 please? Or perhaps.... 2 Loud? ;D

I wanted to write this positive review, not detailing the intricacies of the class (many other reviews do that), but to counter so many of them deriding the voice acting. During my campaign playthrough, I found that the voice actress did a phenomenal job with the character and brought me into the atmosphere of the world. At least, subjectively, for those turned off by the apparent poor voice acting, I hope this serves as a counter perspective - I was enthralled by it.
