Has an exit button, but no 'save and exit' option. Doesn't auto-save when exiting.

Spawns collectables that your bots push around if you don't have the collection unlocked for them (and it can take days to unlock collection for certain things). But those same bots can push stuff OFF the level...unless you buy the supporter pack! It comes with guardrails that prevent that!

How about I just uninstall your game and tell you "Oh hell no" to engineering a problem requiring a paid solution?

Something in this game tries to talk to the internet, and when it can't, it lags out the entire system with an infinite retry loop. Bad code = skip game.

Update 6/7: With the new 'How you died' feature, it is clear that aimbots for this game exist. The number of times you will get shot in the exact place on your tank that has no armor is too consistent to be random.

---

The AI bots it fills the teams with will spam gold even at low tiers (2-3). Gold ammo is unrealistic to the time period and has INSANE (like 3x) penetration compared to normal ammo. Gold is the ammo you have to spend real world money on (effectively, because it's 10x the cost of normal ammo). Don't waste your time on this trash.

There's around 2 hours of gameplay with the current patch level (12/1/2022). I've used a metric of $1/hr of entertainment as a baseline since year 2000, so this game is fair. The mechanics are simple, and the most annoying part of the game will be using the supermarket (eventually) to restock 1000 milk tea after a day of selling. Yes, there's a 'restock now' button, but it costs about 30% more than click-spamming the supermarket buy-50 button. :p

I played the demo, so I managed to beat the game in < 2hrs because I understood the basics when I actually bought the real game.

Also, despite what the minimum reqs say, it does, in fact, run on Windows 7.

This game gets a bad review for one reason that is also semi-consistent among games made by LavaFlame2. In the new Afterlife update, it is possible to brick your game save. How? Well, one of the mechanics is to spend money on mobs in afterlife to level them up. If you do that too much, you can spend NAN money on the mob, and at that point, afterlife progression becomes impossible. LavaFlame's response? "Tough ♥♥♥♥, shouldn't have done that." even though any half-way decent programmer would have put a safety check in for DOUBLE OVERFLOWS. Don't waste your time, or worse, money, on this game made by a creator that is outright hostile to his playerbase.

I have to give this a No recommendation. Why? The game itself is fine. But to unlock everything (that isn't infinite) in the gem shop costs $400 as of 4/19/2022. $193 of that is inventory space unlocks. I pointed this out on the subreddit and was perma-banned by the developer for pointing out this fact. There was no judgment, only a "TIL" type post. I cannot, in good conscience, support or recommend a developer that thin-skinned or, apparently, greedy. Find another idle game.

I have little doubt the developer will also take action against my account, but given that I have already spent money on the game, that would be unwise.

This game may lock up / freeze during loading. If it does, don't launch it through steam. Just use the daybreak launcher standalone (not via steam) and the game should work just fine.

Update 9/11: This game just got its 6.0 update and many of the bugs in 5.0 are still there, namely the side-pod on Javelins still being pressurized even though it's floating in space completely open to space with no doors. Also, this game still crashes constantly. See this screenshot (https://imgur.com/a/J2WpeJz) just for my crashes since 6.0. There are consistent crashes just trying to load a ship. DO.NOT.SPEND.MONEY.ON.THIS.STUPIDITY! Wait until the devs fix it. As for why I did? I'm a masochist. The game has potential. It just needs actual engine-level work, which is where the dev team is sorely lacking. They have an automated crash uploader, but they went into the weekend, after a full week of receiving these crash reports, without pushing an emergency patch. These guys are just plain bad devs. Period. Early Access is not an excuse to shipping a bad product, regardless of what Scamlon El-Muskyrat makes you think.

Original Review:

This game is kinda zen, and that would be nice, except for the ridiculous number of bugs. For example:

1. Control consoles for airlocks that still have their lights on (lights go out if you disturb the airlock / cut away structure around it) that don't open doors, requiring you to burn through them, possibly causing violent decompressions / killing you / wrecking stuff.
2. Atmospheric Regulators that still have their lights but don't depressurize rooms.
3. Random freezes/crashes, normally involving ultra-high speed impacts that overflow the physics integer for force.
4. Ultra-high speed impacts being common because they incorrectly calculate physics on objects. For example, you can't move a 20,000kg section of a ship **unless** you cut off a 1kg piece of the ship, and push the 20,000kg section with your 1kg piece and the grapple gun. Not kidding, you can push an impossibly heavy object with a light one.
5. Tethers break because their 'smart snapping' is useful, but doesn't consider the object's physics, so they end up blocking themselves and snapping.
6. Gravity around the furnace pulling objects in on higher-tier ships even though the object does not pass near the yellow line, making it impossible to salvage those components into the processor ahead of the furnace without first moving the rest of the ship out of the way, even though sufficient space exists that such a move should be possible WITHOUT moving the ship first.
7. The UI randomly locking up and making it impossible to restock fuel/tethers.

Just...so many little bugs. And they've had most of them for > 1 year. They are fixing the game, but ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, this thing is still a buggy mess.

You'll have fun early on in this game, but the game is fundamentally balanced around you being required to have a premium account in order to afford to keep fishing at anything but the lowest 3-5 level fishing holes. Fish manage to bite through titanium wire consistently...because that makes any sense at all. On top of this, if you use gear that allows you to haul those big fish in before they bite through the cable, then you get an XP penalty for not using gear that is 'fair'. Overall, the balance of this game is centered around making money, and you're better off spending your time playing a game designed to be fun, not a cash grab.
