A fun and simple version of TF2 that fixes many problems in the base game to do with simply hopping onto servers and playing. The 2010 theme is a neat breath of fresh air from the very overstimulating world of modern TF2. Changes like Adhoc connections, no matchmaker, team switching, team scrambles, sprays and more make the game so much easier to play with friends and feel much more playable for long periods of time. You don’t get the problem of having to requeue every 20 minutes. You get to really get into the groove of playing with one group of players on one map for pretty much as long as you want.

There are a few weapons from around 2009-2011 that I feel are missing, and would still fit into the game. I can see why the devs might be reluctant to add, say, the Gunslinger or Demoknight, but I feel like they could easily add The Southern Hospitality, The Rocket/Sticky Jumper and a few others.
I also think some extra items like Duel Challenges, an equivalent to Stranges, and other neat little side things (without introducing trading, crates or an economy) could go a long way to making it more fun to play and stick with long-term.

I’ve noticed there seems to be a lack of ‘balance’ in the hats, with some classes having three hats and others only having one. This results in most players of a given class wearing the same hat. I think the game should aim to have 4 or 5 hats per class, low enough to keep the aesthetic concise and clean while giving every player options.

All in all I think it’s a great mod, I hope to see it continue development. I don’t think the devs need to add tons, if many at all, hats, maps or weapons, keeping everything small is a good idea, and most of what’s needed is already here, it just needs some polishing and refinement, balancing and such. I would absolutely recommend it to a friend.
